  • If by "size" you mean length of the game, then yes it matters a lot to me. Graphics, not so much. I can play a game with bad graphics if I get 20+ hours out of it.

  • Game size: Yes, usually this matters to me, in a sense. I want a game that isn't necessarily huge, but has a large amount of content, wether it be lore, customization, skills to master, anything that allows me to hone my playstyle really (I understand lore doesn't fit that). A game doesn't have to be the size of GTA in terms of map to be great, but it needs to have a lot of good stuff to do and play with. Graphics: Yes, but not to a huge extent. It won't stop me from buying a game, but I like good graphics.

  • That greatly depends on the game. A larger game is usually better, but would you rather have a large game with nothing to do, or a small well thought out game? If you can have both quality & quantity, great, but otherwise quality>quantity. As for graphics? Not in the least.

    • Because I do nothing but school and games, size is very important to me

    • if the size seems justifiable then it doesnt bother me. BF4 being like 50 gigs doesnt bother me, halo mcc being 60 (?) gigs is kinda eh, and halo 5 being 100 gigs is outrageous (dont even start with "but they have..."). if, say, a game like skyrim but better was 100 gigs, then okay, but not halo 5. its got too little to offer for its size.

      • Nope, you can have a big open world, but if it's filled with nothing but open land or just doing the same thing repeatedly (the Ubisoft formula) then it's just boring. Visuals do matter, but gameplay and sound mean more to me. I can play a game made from sprites and still enjoy it immensely.

      • I prefer longer games, or games with replay value. Zelda, Witcher 3, Fallout, Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden etc. So the size of the game matters from a playtime point of view, as for graphics ? Nice eye candy is always a welcome addition.

      • Graphics are something you appreciate in the first 5 minutes of the game. Afterwards, everyone ignores it's existence until it comes to a "which game is better" debate. Which, often times, graphics are a poor rebuttal. Super Mario 64 has terrible graphics compared to the new Super Mario games, yet I find more enjoyment in the older variants than the newer.

Graphics matter deoending on the type of game I'm getting. I'd rather get a game about storytelling in more of a Telltale/Life is Strange style, and I'd prefer 2d platformers to be cartoony and sometimes pixelated. But that doesn't mean anything is wrong about some games. An example being Dust: An Elysian Tale. I thought the style didn't match the gameplay, and was presently surprised. So I mean, in hindsight, no. But it comes down to my specific preferences.

      • Not really...as long as the story and gameplay are good.

      • Depends on the game. Titanfall 2, I want 60 fps and at least 720 (good to go) so it can be silky smooth. KOTOR, don't care (remaster would be welcomed). Because the graphics aren't integral to the experience. It depends on if it is required to the experience for the most part.

      • Immersion matters to me, and graphics are a part of that. As long as they aren't distractingly ugly, I'm fine.

        • To me, scale definitely matters. Graphics, not so much. Making a game too small can make it repetitive and grow old fast. Too big can make a game tedious. It's like go karting. Just going up and down the driveway isn't going to be fun for long. By contrast, a two mile oval track wouldn't be very exciting either. Gotta find that good ratio of size and content.

        • How long the game will last and gameplay matters the most to me. I don't dish out 60 bucks for short games anymore now that I got bills to pay. I may not have as long to play them anymore but I'd still rather have a game that last a long time for me. Graphics matters to some degree. I didn't buy a ps4 to be playing games that I could've been playing on my ps2 or ps3.

        • No. In fact, games trying to be "right sized" is actually horrible for a game, as it can lead to padding out good concepts (Octodad, Portal 2, etc) or create a wide but shallow experience (Skyrim, No Man's Sky, Minecraft)

Depends on the quality of the game. If it's a great game, bad visuals won't keep me from playing it. But having good visuals is nice.

            • Graphics and visuals hardly matter, but good gameplay combined can really make a game. Example: Dwarf Fortess

              • For me there's a relationship between graphics and playability. I won't play a bad game with good graphics, but I will play a good game with bad graphics, depending on how bad they are. New Vegas/F3 graphics are close to the cutoff for me.

              • As long as the movement is fluid and the graphics are acceptable, I'm fine. For example Half Life 1 was decent in its time but nowadays the graphics look like shit.
