The "Thorn" is currently, not all that great. So there really should not be a problem with this.... right? I personally feel its current status is where it needs to be. I mean some people still destroy with it in PvP. Also, does it bring you guys bad memories, or good memories? Feel free to LEAVE A LIKE on this post, I would love to see what the majority of the community thinks :D.

I love thorn I used it before it was OP. When the mag was 6 and the reload was dreadful. I love the idea of the burn but if it was removed I wouldn't care as long as the buffed range or target acquisition. As of now I can consistently land 3 tap head shots if the changes above were put in place it would be top tier again without people bitching about the burn lol
-
It's funny of how everything gets nerfed once I start using it.
-
1 ReplyGood, people still think its OP and its hilarious

1 ReplyThey destroyed the DoT, which was the entire point of the weapon. I'm okay with the number of ticks going from 6 to 4, but the damage per tick is just too low currently. IMO it should be doing 5 damage a tick. That would be 20 damage a shot.

4 RepliesScrew thorn, that gun should b deleted permantly, but bungie caters to all the sweatys and crybabies so whatever. I know which artifact im wearing everytime I play crucible, the one to make your thorn useless bitches
-
1 ReplyLol..when I first started playing crucibal. ..ie during the thorn meta...ie thought it was normal to die from burn out( thorn perk)..I did not realize that just everyone was using that gun..Ironically I just received thorn last week, payback time bicthes..
-
Everyone batches about thorn not remembering the two tap cross map insta kill that was the glitched last word. At least you could counter the burn with red death with last word it was just over.
-
1 ReplyIt's a solid stat line even without the DoT, I like using it because it has one of the longest ranges of all high RoF handcannons. It looks cool, has a cool story, and lives in the imagination of many players as this total dominating beast. Happy to see it return

Edited by kindaSketch: 8/6/2016 12:52:20 AMListen. When I got thorn it was before the great buff that made it so popular with the rest of the community and I loved it. Then they buffed it and I really enjoyed using a gun with great story and performance. But then it went from popular to everyone and their future kids using only that gun and I got tired of looking at it. Lack of diversity is stale to be sure. But as long as it comes back with greatness but not op I'll be really happy.

3 RepliesWell since there is that new artifact that reduces burn I think they should not only fix thorn but also all the other burn skills that were destroyed. This includes vf and tof, it includes throwing knife burn and every other burn that got nerfed.
-
Edited by Iyrha: 8/5/2016 8:37:09 PMOnly good players can use it successfully anyway, so I'm all for it.
Also, it's no doubt the best sounding gun in this game.
4 RepliesIt's been nerfed to trash. Who cares.
-
8 RepliesEdited by Lord Corignis: 8/4/2016 5:21:23 PMThey still didn't fix the problem with it. The problem was never the burn, it is the fact that Thorn, like Hawksaw and MIDA, is an archetype breaker. Too much damage for its rate of fire. MIDA nearly does the damage of Colovance's Duty but fires faster, Hawksaw nearly does the damage of Red Death and fires faster. Same goes for any overpowered primary, from Thorn to Doctrine.

5 RepliesEdited by The Soviet Bear: 8/4/2016 5:39:47 PMGood. Thorn is my favorite weapon, and it always will be.
-
Ehh. Doesn't really matter to me, super sweaty players were gonna use it in yr 3 regardless.
-
7 RepliesI remember when it was two shot kill, and I would always get decimated by it. However, I was sad when it was nerfed, even though I never had it, just like how hawkmoon was nerfed before I even got it. Some guns should be better than the others, and I always respected thorn. So, yay!
-
I'll repeat myself once again. The more weapons, perks and options the better! PvP should not limit and hold back the entire game! Wake up people! PvE fun can not coexist with PvP balance as long as Bungo refuses to even bother trying to separate the PvP nerfs. The PvP community has never and never will be happy or satisfied with anything so stop catering to them at the expense of the entire game Bungo!

I do agree in Y1 it was so frustrating to get 2 tapped only to die from DoT. But Red Death was the best way to counter that.(for me personally then) So no I don't really mind It being brought back to Y3 light LvL besides it's not like Thorn is going to be the only used Exotic in PvP it ain't Y1 anymore.

Edited by cuzzybubba1: 8/4/2016 4:44:08 PMWhy do people even care? I've seen like 10 posts about this, it's just a good gun at this point and a great rolled Eyasluna is as good or better. It's to the point that Bungie has provided an artifact to eliminate DoT so people don't get their feelings hurt. lol
-
It's not going to be anywhere near as aggravating as it was in y1, if you have access to a y1 thorn you can jus use it in normal crucible for yourself to see. It's still pretty good but again, it isn't as dominant as it used to be.
-
1 ReplyThey need to buff it in PvE, and leave it as is in PvP

1 ReplyAs my very first exotic, way back when during the second week launch, I have never put it in the vault. It's my most prized weapon. It's what I first killed Atheon with. It's what I used to counter Suros and the Vex before they were nerfed. Even though it only had 6 bullets, a long reload, and low stability. It was still a subtle 2 shot monster. Sadly, I had to watch it rise to power as the Suros and Vex were nerfed into oblivion, yet it was given 3 more bullets, more stability, and a quicker reload. I was upset when it was nerfed by the end of year 1. I was even more sad when it was left behind in year two. I am very happy to see its return. Whether it's good or bad, I am just happy I'll be to finally use it again with more usage other than having fun in the crucible.

It's kinda trash now with the exotic perk being nearly useless, so I don't really care. Since you can now only stack two DoTs out of five at most due to fire rate and the number of DoT ticks, they should honestly change it back to max DoT damage and remove the stacks. I honestly thought it was perfect once the DoT was changed to stacks. Glad they nerfed the gun into oblivion cause people just can't stop whining about literally everything.
