For the longest time the player base has been gobbling up the new content and grinding their little thumbs to the bone trying to reach the level and light cap, whether it be 29 to 30 or 300 to 310. But inevitably with new content releases 30 becomes 31 becomes 32 becomes 34. 310 becomes 320. Then one day it hit me. Every "improvement" they made to this game eventually turned it into something you had to treat like a full time job to succeed at. When play feels like work, stop. Just stop playing and wait for the next expansion to start playing again. With the new level cap everything you mashed your thumbs into powder for will become useless anyway. Just like your old stockpile of primary weapons with burn damage. Stop chasing that light cap. Stop grinding for that gun. Take 3 of those 4 hours you were going to spend improving your Destiny stats and improve yourself IRL. With real skills. Learn an instrument. Learn to draw. Learn something and get good at it. Really really really good. Don't be a mindless consumer. Be a creator! And when the next DLC comes out THEN go back and play the previous one. Or do like I'm gonna do. Wait about 3 months after their done screwing around with this game to play it at all, cause at least then you know everything you did won't get dumped and retooled cause asshats like Luke Smith decided one day that for some reason since a handful of guns are used too much, instead of making everything good, they should make everything mediocre.
TL;DR: Stop chasing the dragon! You never catch it.
P.S.
Bungie, at the expense of sounding homophobic, here's a little anecdote for you. "If a man builds a thousand bridges and sucks one dick, they don't call him a bridge-builder... they call him a cocksucker."

I once got close enough to smell it's breath though
