Alright. The Titan update has been posted. The one everyone has been waiting for.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=14083
Honestly, I think this is a great job on the balance. -9.09% damage reduction while in HoS (55% currently, down to around 50%), hammers now travel slower, and a 3 second cooldown on healing perk (the striker one had a 5 sec cd before which is now 3 sec with this update) among some other things. Striker has been improved and Defender wasn't really touched too much on, which is totally fine.
But I want to know, how are you other Titan mains taking this update? If you play all three characters equally, you can vote too, but this is mostly just to see how my punching bros are taking this. I know all your Hunter/Walock mains are going to be very happy about the Sunbreaker nerf, so I don't want that to lop-side the poll. I am 100% okay with this. I was scared they would demolish the subclass, but I see they have a set goals for the kills and usage of the subclasses, which is pretty interesting.
Thanks for your work Sage, I doubt you'll ever see this though.
Anyways, if you're not happy about this update, comment what you think they shouldn't have changed (if anything at all, lol).
Edit: Eyyy, we trending. Also to clear up some confusion. From what the wording on the post says, they're taking 9% off of the 55% damage reduction. Simply put, 4.95 is 9% of 55. So, it'll be down to 50% damage reduction. It's not a straight 9% reduction
Edit 2: Man, some of you guys think I actually care if you main a Titan or not and vote. I mean 1.6k of you Warlock/Hunter mains actually voted in that, which is greatly appreciated. But the ones that are commenting that you didn't pick the Warlock/Hunter option...you want a cookie? lmao. This was to get a general idea about the Titan community's opinion. Which seems to be generally decent at this point, we'll see if there's any chance on Tuesday. I don't really care if stray votes from Warlock/Hunter mains appears.
3 more days still the fated day. It'll be a whole new Crucible with the weapon balance, the Y1 exotics coming back (new perks or not), and new Titan updates. Enjoy the current meta while it's here, Guardians.

No more T. rex arms?
-
Yea, it was overkill. The blast radius is pathetic. I don't use cauterize simply knowing it's basically useless now. Idk, Off topic: how bad were pulse rifles hit?.just started playing since new update
-
I do not main Titan but I do feel like they nerfed it more than what people were asking for
-
1 Reply319 Titan main here and I say decent because cauterize shouldn't be touched and we wouldn't be goin through this mess if people didn't bitch so much...no one in year one was complaining about golden nova and self res but hey to each his own
-
Not a Titan
still voted. #thuglyfe
3 RepliesI have to say if they do what they say it will be a good update but everyone knows bungle has to over nerf everything
-
3 RepliesMaybe someone with a background in advanced statistics can explain to me how Sunbreakers with their 1.06 KD ratio is OP and needs to be nerfed to bring it closer to 1.0KD ratio. This is all found here. To me, the difference between 1.06 and 1.00KD ratios seems negligible. We are talking a difference of 6 kills per 100 kills. The Dev team even said:
Give other players a glimmer of hope standing against a Solar Titan in PvP.
Dude, Sunbreakers are averaging a 1.06KD ratio. That seems incredibly reasonable and balanced. Maybe somebody smarter than me can explain how Sunbreakers are OP based on a 1.06 KD ratio. If we use that same 1.06KD Ratio metric, can't we then say that any player with a 1.06KD Ratio or greater is OP? And shouldn't they then need to nerf these players?

I think overall they did a good job, but I think they went a little overboard on the Sunbreaker, Striker didn't get quite the love it needs in PvE (more damage on super would have been nice), and the Defender bubble should have been strengthened enough where it takes one more Golden Gun shot to destroy.
-
Titan since beta. I could care less about hammer of sol. I really didn't think it was that good, so k rarely played it. Now its gonna be even less useful in my eyes, so I'll stick to my preferred Defender and Striker. Wish they had done something more with Defender though.
-
You know what I say?
PEREGRINE GREAVES
I honestly don't mind as long as I can still murder with my fists.
-
When I saw the patch notes I was like: hum I was already expecting this and this too, less speed in the hammer, whatever, hum... Nerfing the extra regen from the seeking hammers, that's ahm... Well... Next. Cooldown on the kill regen perk, well bladedancers can get health regen with super kills but they can't throw their arc blades across the map so that's fair, so what happend to the other subclasses... Nothing changed... *uses the dissapointed emote*
-
Honestly when I read the changes to sunbreaker I thought it seemed a little much. And I'm a salty warlock. But it's nice to see titans don't mind this much, and we'll see how balanced things become.

Good. I think they could have done more with the Defender subclass.
-
Honestly excited for buffs to defender and striker. Was wrecking people in trials with FoH last night. Sunbreaker was never really my thing.
-
2 RepliesI'm just mad about the Fabian strategy
-
1 ReplyI main a Hunter. I am opposed to any nerf to any class, weapon, or armor. Separate PvP from PvE. When running strikes and raids with my fellow guardians I want them to have powerful arsenals at their disposal.
-
I like the look of these changes, I might actually be worried when I see a titan throwing arc grenades
-
Edited by Muka Gatals: 12/7/2015 5:00:47 PMThis is bad. It stupid nerfing based on PVP. Sunbreaker is the only movable super that Titan has. It garbage in PVE now. If they care about PVE they should buff the damage per hammer too. It will not have effect on PVP but it will make balance/fun in PVE. I don't like to play PVP...but If I play...I like to use Striker...basically this titan nerf/buff gives benefit for me in PVP...:) I would like Hunter Golden Gun can be spammed like Hammer in PVE...that would be fun..
-
The only thing I dislike is cauterize, for pve there where some extremely fun builds with this that now just aren't possible to run through their most useful areas
-
5 RepliesThe update is okay like that there doing something to striker always like to use striker in crucible sunbreaker a did need a little bit less armor but I think damage is fine it should be a one shot even if you selfrez Mabey storm callers should take two hammers depending on armor and light lvl for trials
-
8 RepliesI used to main a Titan (Haven't played in about a month). All I can say is, I called it. Instead of slightly nerfing what some people were asking for, they gave Sunbreaker an across the board nerf. 1. Huge armor loss while in super. Should have been about 5%. 2. Slower Hammers. Hammers are already pretty easy to dodge. 3. Big hammer explosion radius nerf. Again, hammers are already pretty easy to dodge. These changes are going to break the class. The only change that I was completely fine with was cauterize. The other changes seemed excessive in most cases.
-
Don't like then nerfing sunbreakers for pve screw the crucibababies!
-
I'm fine with the hos nerf they needed a little less armor. I'm just happy my striker will be getting a buff. Then there's the bubble buff.... Gunna be so nice with armamentarium.

11 RepliesEdited by Bears Doing Crimes: 12/6/2015 1:18:53 AMI am a titan. I am not aggressive or angry. I'm really closer to an old tree. Calm. Awe inspiring. You come to me because I offer shelter from the elements. I have long held the belief that titans were over looked for much of the first year. Then the way of the Sunbreaker was re-discovered and we re-forged the crucible, forever burning our names into history, but we are titans we are not prideful and this does not matter to us. I am happy to relinquish my fire. For you see, there is more to being a titan than mindless aggression. Being a titan is about discipline and being a shining example of the hope and power of the city. So I ask my fellow titans to accept these nerfs and buffs and continue on. Because titans do not quit, no matter the odds. You will not whine. You will not beg. And you will never ever give in. Because we are titans, and we are legion.

Play defender for the most part pvp/pve so i guess its not a big deal to me.
