Hot topic seems to be about the possibility of current available exotics being made redundant. I have not had the time to read all relevant content or watch live streams or videos so I do not have the ins and outs regarding this.
I just wonder why not stay with the system at the moment where we can pick and choose which legendaries and exotics we want to ascend. This lets us choose what we want our characters to look like and if this continued there would be an abundance of diversity. I remember at release every titan, hunter and warlock looked pretty much the same as other titans, hunters and warlocks with the main difference being in shaders. The current direction is more in line with Bungie and their forge your own legend idea.
I like being able to bring my favourite vanilla legendaries into current content with the ascend option legacy weapons and armour are still relevant. I am more attached to some legendaries that I have had from the first week than most of my exotics and would hate to only be able to use older weapons in the standard crucible modes where relative attack damage is less meaningful than PvE. Also if legendary armour and weapons cannot be kept relevant what have they just done to their older raids if only the current raid will yield any relevant rewards?
Is the current system broken? Personally I like it as it is currently but as I said I may be missing something.
Seems fine as it is, will just have to wait and see
