I'm curious to see if there are a significant number of players who have never attempted a raid before, despite being the necessary level.
So... if you've hit level 29 or above, comment here with your current level, when you started playing, and why you haven't tried raiding (yet?) :3
Edit: There are a bunch of awesome people who have commented in this thread that they're willing to give unseasoned raiders a hand. If you're considering giving raids a try, why not start by reaching out to one of these players? Just please remember, the biggest requirement in learning how to raid is not your equipment, not your level... it's courtesy, honesty, and an ability to listen more than you talk.
Happy raiding, Guardians!

I actually didn't start raiding until I hit level 32 in IB. At that point I had pretty much accomplished everything I could by myself. Now I'm concentrating mostly on Crota's End mainly for the weapons. I'm hoping to do VOG more, once I have the time.

1 ReplyLevel 29 hunter. I stay busy, and have few friends that play Destiny on a PS4, so it's hard to plan & coordinate a raid. I look forward to it! My only exotic is my third man mask from Xur... Want to expand my collection!

1 ReplyBeen playing since about day 4. Just no time to raid. Usually I can squeeze 45 minutes in before tending to my kids and wife. Don't want to start a raid and have to leave 10 minutes in because of life stuff. So I just patrol around and kill stuff to my hearts content. Have two 29's and working on a third.

If you don't have time it makes sense to avoid the raid but otherwise it's as simple as watching one of many YouTube videos on how to complete each section of each raid. Crota can be mostly soloed but is great with a team. VoG is the best part of destiny and should be played by everyone. Patrolling and strikes and weeklies are terrible when compared to VoG. Watch a walk through and get in there, you only really learn if you try it out.

Me, done crota normal once, never even attempted vog, only cheese the first part for the chest, solo crota up to deathsinger just can't get by her, tried lfg once and got put wi a group ov numptys who expected me to know their strategy without telling me lol

Edited by RebornV3: 4/6/2015 8:03:24 PMI used to raid VOG all the time but not anymore I haven't tried Crota and haven't done a raid in months can't find any good players to raid with they all left.

1 ReplyYou are doing a good thing here OP, thank you.

1 ReplyEdited by Ultima MG: 3/12/2015 4:39:23 PMFor those that haven't raided yet due to trash LFG groups, lack of knowledge, or just intimidation; feel free to PM me. Our clan used to teach VoG every weekend. I'd be open to teaching either raid, as long as participants come somewhat prepared. What do I mean by prepared? VoG: Level 27+, 270+ attack weapons Crota: Level 30+, 300+ attack weapons Bring patience and an ability to interpret and apply constructive criticism. Rarely do I "carry" people through raids. Expect to work as part of a team :) EDIT: Should have clarified, I'm on PS4

2 RepliesLevel 30 warlock never raided played since beta. Reason for never raiding is I have very little time I work night shift and have infant twins. I usually only get to play for about an hour during the day most weekdays except Monday and Friday I can usually get 2-4 hours in then if I try. Never on on the weekends as that's my time with kids and wife. So just never got a chance to raid or found a group that would be willing to either cut the raid up into a few days or are on when I am.
-
I started playing in October but stopped for long stretches of time but always started where I left off. I don't raid because I don't have enough friends who play destiny and I don't want to raid with strangers who use profane language. I REALLY disapprove of that kind of language.
-
I'll be on at 9:00 pm central time if anyone wants to do a raid on the XBox One. Preferably adults or older teens. Message me, gamertag same as above.

Level 31 here on 2 diff toons and 30 on the other only ever did 1 atheon normal kill helping a friend out and never done anything else Been playing since release and don't really have a group of 6 friends that play destiny to tackle em. So I PvP instead.
-
I've got three 31s (one of each class). Bought the game on release date but only started playing early December due to other things. Haven't done a raid other than soloing the abyss in CE. Few reasons: - Don't have any friends who play Destiny (or even own a PS4). Not having RL friends who play is the main reason I don't raid. - Don't own a mic and don't really want to deal with randoms anyway. Some of the tools you find in Strikes are bad enough and Strikes are a lot less stressful than Raids.
-
If anybody is looking for a group. I have numerous completions in both VOG and CE. I am definitely willing to help fellow guardians enjoy raiding. End game content is a very fun experience and I believe everyone should give it a shot.

1 ReplyLvl 30, never done the raids, i work nightshift so my hrs of play are screwed up. Plus most of my friends have moved on from destiny after moaning about the grind that is destiny. So stuck between a rock and hard place

Edited by Stone_Talon: 3/12/2015 1:01:44 AMHave tried and messed up so I left the team because I felt like an idiot, was a random team so I didn't know any of them and they didn't want to teach, haven't tried since Edit: I'm on ps3 incase anyone wonders

1 ReplyPlay on a fireteam of three 31s. We have never raided because we don't have any other xbox one friends that play. We would love to try both VOG and CE. We play almost every night around 9PM EST.
-
3 RepliesI've been playing since Beta. Warlock, level 31. I've attempted VOG a half a dozen times and CE once. Each time was with a bunch from LFG and each time, someone in the group gets frustrated and craps out. It always falls apart from there. I'm casualI but would love to finish these raids and get some cool loot.
-
No raids here. Most people I know don't like FPS. And the other half cares nothing for Sci Fi games. Oh and then there's, we all have different consoles now. Sigh.

1 ReplyEdited by mikadri: 3/11/2015 8:25:48 PMI´m lvl 31 Titan,31 Warlock an 12 Hunter.I am lvl 51 with the Cryptarc :),and have played about 500 hours,and never a single Raid.It´s not that I don´t want to do a Raid,but I would prefer matchmaking for Raids too.Also I feel,I´m finish with the game if I rach lvl 32,-and I still enjoy the game,so I´m not in a hurry.-Nightfalls I just solo..

1 ReplyI made it to 30 without raiding, I'm now beginning to find it more difficult to gain levels just because raids are one of the (if not THE) easiest way(s) to get shards, in order to upgrade my gear further.
-
Never attempted a raid yet.
-
3 RepliesI have a 31, 30, and 29. Only 2 raid attempts ever, both were pretty short lived. I have a newborn so I try not to do anything that I feel would be rude to stop in the middle of... Maybe one day I'll try to get into it, would love to get some of the raid gear/weapons
-
5 RepliesI have a level 31, 29 and 28 and I've never raided because I think I'd be more hindrance than help.
