While I agree that these clan names are offensive, does it really matter? Let idiots be idiots as long as it doesn't directly effect you:)

 • Marsoc Hash, I can think of numerous good reasons for Bungie to remove such clan names. 1) To leave those names in place would make it appear that Bungie supports or endorses violence against women. 2) Using these kinds of names is offensive, and it implies that the players themselves are rapists and are willing to attack other players in real life. ( Maybe they ARE rapists, maybe not....but they ARE IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES AS RAPISTS BY CLAN NAME. 3) We are a gaming community. Think of us as a large city....or maybe a nation of Destiny players. Clearly it is up to us as a community to report unacceptable behaviors...including implied threats. 4) The game is a shared environment played by people of all ages. Teens, young adults, and people of mature age. In this shared environment, it is reasonable to expect a certain level of decorum, courtesy, and civil behavior. 5) There is plenty of room for vigorous competition in pvp and pve play. There is lots of room for friendly rivalries and team vs team challenges. Within this realm of friendly competition, for Bungie to allow idiots and/or predators to use clan names like SerialRapists is to work towards creating a hostile environment, rather than the friendly environment we'd like to see. 6) Does it really matter ? Would you say the same if it was your daughter being contacted by a player from a clan with a name like the RapistClan ? 7) Those who cannot show consideration towards others do not deserve our support or a place in this shared gaming world. 8) Explicit threats against others, and implied threats against others are intolerable in a shared gaming world community.

 • As I said, I agree with everything you originally stated and agree with everything you said in reply. Sexual assault against women and men(happens in both genders, do not exclude the gentlemen) and it is terrible. But, people have the freedom to name themselves what they want. As long as they are not making actual threats to assault someone, I do not think Bungie can legally do anything about it. It saddens me when people use free speech for such a despicable topic. My hope is that their emails connected to Bungie(and the group) show up in a job interview or in a school application. As I said, idiots will be idiots. Let's hope it catches up with them in the real world.

 • We misunderstood what you posted. The internet can do that sometimes preventing us from hearing tone and such.

 • After rereading what I originally said, I can see how it was misinterpreted. I, in no way, support sexual assault. I just meant bungie cannot do anything about it unless they a threat is made. Example- if someone is running down the street screaming "I'm a rapist", that person cannot be arrested unless there is evidence that an assault took place. It's sort of the same case here. That's all I meant.

 • Another thing to add is that this would be extremely offensive to those who have been sexually assaulted.
