Odds are we are the first intelligent race in the universe, so we could fulfill a role similar to the Forerunners.

  • I completely agree with you, but I really hope that there are other intelligent forms of life out there :/

  • Odds are definitely stacked against that, not for it.

Fermi's paradox. Considering how fast life on Earth has evolved, there is a window of a couple hundred million years prior to life starting on Earth that another intelligent race could have started and not interacted with us by now. This is taking the observation that a society able to colonize a planet that they did not originate from would then beable to colonize the entire galaxy in a couple million years. And from that, it would be a couple million years for intergalactic travel to which they would beable to map the universe and detect our presence. So, the odds are definitely for it, considering 9 billion years prior to Earth being cool enough to support life, and we haven't had any interaction. But, odds are against there not being any other life in the universe, due to the sheer amount of stars. But that is not to say for certain that there is other life, as highlighted by Fermi's Paradox.

Either you're misinterpreting something, or I am. Fermi's Paradox goes directly against what he just stated.
Odds are we are the first intelligent race in the universe,
That's simply not true. Odds are not stacked in favor of this.
. And from that, it would be a couple million years for intergalactic travel to which they would beable to map the universe and detect our presence.
You're making an unsafe assumption there. Even were Fermi's Paradox to actually hold some weight in reality though, it definitely has counter weights. Also, you w0t m8:
there is a window of a couple hundred million years prior to life starting on Earth that another intelligent race could have started and not interacted with us by now.
That is bar none the shortest window anyone has ever decided to roll with in a conversation on this, and after viewing galaxy formations nearing 13 billion years, I simply do not find it to be true. edit: I just read over what I typed a few minutes ago, and jesus christ, I need to wake up before going on forums.
