Hello Bungie,
I don’t post very much if ever, but I wanted to make some kind of hail marry effort to bring some attention to the strong disadvantage that many non-hunter mains are at right now on console in pvp. I hope someone hears this.
There is a short list of weapons that immediately get your attention in crucible. Weapons like Lorentz Driver, Chaperone, Le Monarch combo, to name a few are incredible strong. Some rewarding you a second kill for free just by getting 1 kill. Some with such high aim assist, little skill is required to use them effectively and still others will do both. These weapons stand alone, but put them into the hands of a character who can go invisible and you have a problem.
The very nature of the hunter is a strong advantage over other classes. While Warlocks and Titans get their abilities quicker from recovery and defense, hunters gain theirs quicker with mobility or speed. Recovery doesn’t do much to help you survive in pvp as 3 headshots will kill you with 10 recovery the same as they do with 100 recovery. Defense also does little to help you survive. Same concept applies. Speed however is actually quite usefull to get out of danger or get into position faster.
For their defense Titans get a barrier and warlocks a well for their recovery. Both have a short animation in which they are vulnerable and both are stationary meaning you cant panic drop a well or a barricade because it becomes a prison. Hunters have no animation before they can receive the benefits of their class ability. It is instantaneous and the ability to not be where you are when your getting lit up is incredibly beneficial. Your gone and moving to a new place not trapped in a well or behind a breakable wall.
Recently Warlocks lost their Hand Held Super Nova HHSN and Titans lost the ability to kill with their shoulder charge. Neither one was seen very ofter despite the Titans 3 subclasses each having one. It appeared that all classes were losing the ability to one-shot-kill. But alas, one class emerged and saw a new day with the possibility of a 1hk still intact. HHSN and shoulder charge both had a strong charge up time. Often times a single shotgun blast would shut it down. There was high risk for both of these abilities but now its not even a possibility.
Hunters have been given such a strong advantage, you can go into trials on any given day and your first match is likely to have all 3 hunters. The community doesn’t pick the highest skill cap weapons or characters, we pick whats most effective. If your seeing more of 1 class than another by any margin close to 20%, I believe you have more than a coincidence. You have a statement. Im not here to nerf hunters. Im here to ask you to stop nerfing everyone else.
Thank you.

Everything you said was the truth but people will downvote it or eventually come in here and lie. As a Titan main in sick of Bungie shafting us. They took our weapons and blessings of light and gave it to warlocks as a rift, they stole our twilight garrison which they probably won’t give back to us and gave it to warlocks as Icarus dash as well. Our resilience gives us no advantage, and they also unnecessarily nerfed bottom tree striker. Burning maul has been a joke in pvp for so long and they refuse to do something about it and hit detection on sentinel has been messed up since the beginning of D2. Nerf to shoulder charge damaged top tree striker and was unnecessary especially with the shotgun/fusion rifle meta. Behemoth Titan is a joke compared to the other stasis subclasses after they overly nerfed it from its former glory. At this point I’m convinced no one at Bungie has a clear vision on what to do with Titan subclass and it shows. There’s a reason so many jump ship from Titan, I just hope void 3.0 brings some necessary help to these void classes. -
1 ResponderHunters are at an advantage

3 RespostasHunter is extremely overused in crucible compared to other classes

1 ResponderAgreed, I main a hunter but get bored and play both titan and warlock. It becomes very obvious how strong hunters are in pvp compared to other classes. My take is the cool down on dodge is the issue, if specked right hunters dodge in every engagement. That a huge advantage.

3 Respostas*Eats popcorn* Just waiting for the triggered Hunter mains to barrel through here to lie to everyone how much Titans and Warlocks are still OP, blah blah blah. The worse part is Bungie believes their lies.

9 RespostasNo no over half the PvP community is hunters because they're harder to use and titans and warlocks are PvP on easy mode. Just ask all the hunter mains.

Editado por Wes: 2/5/2022 6:36:19 PMAs a Hunter main, we most certainly have some things going for us. While I can't agree with all your points, you can't really argue that our base movement is only challenged by top tree Dawnblade, which has a cooldown on its main movement ability. Sure, Titans and Warlocks are faster, but only top tree Dawn is evasive while in the air. Others are mostly straight lining if they're moving quickly. The instantaneous jumps on Hunter make them evasive in the air all the time and able to escape FoV the fastest. And then that instantaneous movement synergizes best with instantaneous damage weapons types, like hand cannons and shotguns. Then put on Stompees and all of that just got better and arguably easier. Anyone who says the base Hunter kit is bad should probably do some rethinking.

This post is legit, I read the whole thing and yeah its all true. The problem is that we all know this but the devs don’t care. The devs only want hunters to fill the dps category which is why they are making their own statement by making warlocks support, titans defender and hunters dps. At this moment titans and warlocks deal more dps to enemies compared to hunters in pve, look at the new glaive and exotics though, I have a feeling that lame hunter exotic is about to be busted. As for pvp, bungie gave out actual percentages on what percentage of players main hunters. I remember it was somewhere like 43-47% hunters, The rest was like 17% warlocks and 30% titans. Its clear hunters are the most used class in the game and no its not because they look cool, they clearly have a ton of advantages over other classes and now currently are the only class able to get one shots without any exotics. This is not gonna change, majority of players main hunters and will downvote your post until it goes extinct.

10 RespostasEditado por KILLA KARIZMA: 2/5/2022 7:48:10 PMHunters... - Easily breaks aim - Get out of jail free DODGE card - Invisibility disappearing off radars - Easily breaks FOV with jump A hunters' main character stat is mobility, which also happens to be one of, if not the most critical aspect of playing any PvP shooter. My Titan resilience is at 100 and I use "Crest of Alphalupi" and put up a wall and heal myself if the enemy doesn't kill me during the dreadfully long animation. The wall ususally ends up getting AOE naded or witherhoarded to shreds and I'm left with 100 resilience that doe's absolutely nothing except in very specific scenarios. It's painful. I miss my D1 Twilight Garrison where Titans could maneuver out of combat effectively. I think all classes should have some form of dodge. Bottom line...even with all the nerfs the hunters have gone through, that class being based around evasion and mobility will still outclass and outshine Warlocks and Titans.

12 RespostasEditado por Odd Ball M4AE4: 2/5/2022 4:18:42 PMLet's not forget to mention Hunters have no just one One-Shot ability, but two! Weighted Throwing Knife and Flux Grenade both provide a ranged one-shot option where Should Charge required getting up close.
Also, out of the three Exotics featured in the Witch Queen trailer, Hunters got yet another Exotic for their Super while Warlock got an Exotic for the worst grenade in the game and Titans got a big ice wall.
And quick note, while it drains Super Energy from the Sentinel to Guard and deflect damage (not even obtaining full damage immunity), Arc Strider's guard can block all incoming damage, receive full damage immunity, and slow its Super drain while doing so. When most the playerbase is Hunters, though, you can't fault Bungie for catering to that class. Gotta keep that money.

This is the part that makes me agree.
Thank you.
It's a shame everyone keeps hounding you over this post because you're being very polite. Don't let anyone or anything bring that kind nature down. Have a good one, dude :) -
I actually agree with OP. This comment section proved it. You can't say that Hunters are at an advantage without a mob trying to bulldoze you with why you're wrong. And they will question your ability to play as to why you're making this statement, when it's never been a matter of skill. It's always been a matter of what's in their kit(point of this). Outside of PvE, Hunters legit have some of the best PvP centered exotics and abilities, but because it's not Stompees, you'd hardly know it, because some players don't like to build into their kit. They care about Recovery and Mobility. OP is also right, Resilience means -blam!- all in this game rn. And Bungie should do better at making this trait matter.

4 RespostasTaboo? No? If anything it’s become fashionable to hate on Hunters but that’s more of a reflection on society where people like to blame others for ones own shortcomings.

You literally don’t even have a hunter. Please don’t make posts that you have no credibility to be making.

1 ResponderOf course you don't have a hunter

4 RespostasEditado por Soul: 2/5/2022 6:56:18 PMYou seem to have a fundamential misunderstanding of many features in the game. Saying stuff like hunter dodge has no animation just completely ruins any validity you're trying to create in your argument. Of course they do and that was even recently nerfed a bit so it wasn't as effective at breaking tracking. You completely discount rift and barricade because 'they have an animation'. Barricades can be very good when the player using it knows how to use it - as can rifts, both healing and damage. I think the issue here, rather than the abilities themselves, is you don't seem to know how to use them. If you stand in the open and place a rift then yes, you'll probably get shot in the face repeatedly. Break LOS and pop one, and you have a clear advantage in a 1 on 1 that most good players will be able to capitalise on. Are there more hunters in pvp? Yes. Do you take into account at all that there's just more hunters in general in the game (as confirmed by Bungie) so this would reflect in game modes too? No. Every class can, and does, shine in the right hands. If you keep losing to hunters then you need to change how you play to counter them, or try a different class. Also, you really need to rethink your entire thought process on recovery. There's a reason the majority of players prioritise it.
-
Yeah, no. Hunters are comfortably in the worst place they've been since D1Y1. The dodge does virtually nothing except sometimes grant a brief reprieve against enemies that rely too heavily on aim assist. All it is, is a free reload. There's the melee refresh too, but that's practically useless with very few build synergies. In all honesty, while dodge isn't a prepartory ability, it isn't really an ability to be used mid-fight either. It's best used to recover after a fight lending a couple seconds, masses less than what either other class ability offers. Recovery is widely regarded as the most important stat in the game, especially for PvP. Not really much to say about this, I take it you just didnt get the memo. Healing faster allows for more fights, allowing for more kills and more survivability. No -blam!-. As for 1hko abilities. Every single Hunter 1hko is a skill shot ability. Hunters are also the only class to every have had skillshot 1hkos. HHSN and Shoulder Charge were both easy kills, given the right circumstances. This isn't a class issue, it's a conceptual issue, easy 1hko's don't work. Other classes will be getting skillshot 1hko's in the future (Arc 3.0). Worth noting that no Hunter 1hko is particularly popular. Tbh, it just seems like you needed a scapegoat to make up for poor performance. I imagine you don't play Hunter or much PvP often, so you don't fully comment on where issues lie within each, nor can you comprehensively.

4 RespostasGoing off the title alone? No way. A taboo? People never shut up about hating hunters. Despite the highest win rate for the last two years being a warlock subclass. Not saying hunters are bad but every class has its ups and downs. As of right now, in my opinion, warlocks and hunters compete very well. Titans have some annoying or tough builds but seem less powerful than the other two.
-
1 ResponderBecause they aren’t…. When are people going to finally get the fact it’s them? I mean you just had dodge nerfed with your incessant whining, and now you moved over to jumping boots……Jumping Boots as your next target. When are you guys going to just grow the f up and realize that maybe it’s a you problem? Kind of getting tiresome with you guys.

Editado por Dredgen Ignatius: 2/7/2022 11:58:29 AMYou need someone to blame but you won't accept the fact that the one to blame is you. You forced us to go back to golden gun and invis don't pretend like we wanted to main that. Its not us its you you nerf yourselves trying to nerf us for stuff your class relies on. You don't have to say you aren't asking for a nerf but its implied. Implied request.

I stopped when he said Recovery isn't very important in pvp. Why tf do you think it's stacked by all 3 classes?
-
It's really unfortunate so many humans missed your points

2 RespostasI have gone from a warlock main in year 1-2 to being a titan main. I notice a very strong increase in my ::cough:: skill when I take a hunter into pvp. With just base hunter abilities kills and escapes are much easier. A rift or titan barrier don’t compare to double dodge/teleporting hunters with auto reload. Add in hunter stasis… my titan gets completely outdone in pvp. I’ve noticed some game modes, like IB, seem more balanced in their spread though and as a titan I can do more. But I think that because the average pve players jump in to get the quest+rewards.
-
1 ResponderWhen I see posts like this I always check stats of the OP. Not to name and shame but to put the criticism in context. I do think that in your case, skill (or the lack of) it is the main reason for your comment. I play all 3 classes but I main my hunter. I think that warlocks are a bit better when it comes to abilities but hunters are more agile and snappy. Every class players different but there is not one better then the other. It depends for 99% on skilll and play style. Now in your defence, there is still to much going on when it comes to abilities imo. I did thread the latest twab and it looks like Bungie is making more effort to make the crucible more and more primary weapon based.

You are more mobile and evasive on a stasis titan with peacekeepers, an smg, and catapult lift than you are on a hunter
