:: PvP Ammo Economy :: (( Rework ))

The PvP ammo economy needs a rework, and far less of a focus on [u]Special Weapons.[/u] This in addition to some other key factors involved in the sandbox, but for now; I’ll touch base on what I believe needs to happen with the sandbox. 🟩 [u][b]PVP SANDBOX ADJUSTMENTS[/b][/u] [b][u]Ammo brick pick-ups[/u][/b]: • Reduce the timer from 30 seconds to 10 [b][u]Scavenger mods[/u][/b]: Deprecate Scavenger Mod functionalities in PvP. Create a new scavenger style mod that grants an accumulative chance to earn special ammo upon earning primary kills/assists & multi. Special ammo will then be loaded into your reserves. This mod does not stack with multiple copies. This mod is only applicable to Kinetic Weapons. Abilities do not apply. [b][u]Spawn & Re-spawn[/u][/b]: • when you start a match, you’re given 1-3 rounds of special ammo, based on the archetype of the weapon. Aggressive/high impact frames receive 1, while lightweights/rapid fire receive 3. Adaptive’s/precision receive 2. • when you die with any amount of special ammo, you loose all your ammo. Your ammo brick contains no more or less, depending on how much you had before death. It’s strictly archetype based. • if you’re wielding a special weapon, or if you’re special weapon is holstered, and you have 0 ammo in that weapon; you will not drop special ammo upon death. You will only drop special ammo, if you’re holding special ammo. [b][u]Ammo crates[/u][/b]: • Special ammo crates will be places in various locations on the map. They spawn as often as heavy ammo currently does, while heavy ammo crates spawn twice every game. Around 4 mins into a match. [b][u]MINOR WEAPON BALANCING[/u][/b] [b][u]Pellet spread shotguns[/u][/b]: • Reduce their accuracy & damage by 40%, when firing while sliding. [b][u]Fusion rifles[/u][/b]: • Revert their energy bolts back to Travel time, instead of hit scan. [b][u]Single shot grenade launchers[/u][/b]: • Change their archetype to aggressive frames, from lightweight frames. [b][u]Special Linear Fusions[/u][/b]: • Reduce aim assist & increase flinch. [b][u]Snipers[/u][/b]: • Equalize all Sniper Rifle flinch values, to that of [u][b]CloudStrike[/b][/u]. [b][u]Trace Rifles[/u][/b]: • Increase Precision damage by 10%. Reduce body damage by 5%. • Grant consistency amount all ammo pick ups for each trace rifles. 45 per brick.

  • You forget side arms they spawn with a pile of ammo and there’s times you don’t never need to use your primary with a good side arm..and there’s some cheesy ones out there rare to see but they’re out there.

    • Instead of ammo dropping when a player is killed. Why not, instead of dropping ammo, kills with primaries reward an extra round of special. Say, two kills with a primary will give you an extra round of special. It would prevent players from gobbling up ten rounds of ammo after players wipe each other out. It would also encourage gun play instead of constant aping and ability spam.

      Hard disagree on two major things regarding special ammo 1. Ammo crates are terrible, slow down the game and negates nerfing ammo in the first place. 2. All special weapons should start with 2 no matter what. When it comes to weapon balance, most of your suggestions are awful. With the exception of linear fusions

      • You lost me at ammo crates. Ammo crates absolutely sucked. Im all for removing scav in pvp and dropping the timer on bricks on the ground tho

      • While I agree with basically all of this, none of it matters until Stasis and ability spam is nerfed into the ground. Special weapons hardly matter more than primaries in the Popsicle Olympics

        • Just play D1 if you want to replicate it (but worse) so bad. Only change that's needed is disabling Scav stacking and making bricks only drop on Primary kills.

            Hard disagree. What should happen is special ammo drops are only seen by you when the person you kill is holding special. It always annoys me when I kill someone and a teammate immediately runs to steal my ammo. I also disagree with the sniper flinch being that of cloud strike. Cloud strikes flinch is already over the top unbearable. Plus with all the recent needs to snipers, they are hardly even being used now. I only see a sniper once every other game or so. I use to main sniper, but they just aren’t even feasible now. Much better off using a shotgun where you can immediately pick up your special ammo than have to run across the map when using a sniper.

            • The length of time that special ammo exists on the field should be no shorter than 20 seconds. I do not agree with the changes to Scavenger mods. While I do think the amount of special ammo in PvP is bonkers I think that making special ammo returns an accumulative process is ridiculous. Just disable the mod in PvP and be done with it. No more -blam!- around. Players across the board start with the same amount of special ammo but can only gain one round per brick dropped. Do NOT bring back special ammo boxes. Teams camping out the location makes it even worse.
