I'm not surprised if you haven't; it is not a story the Ninja's would tell you or even the merely sane...
Humans have been known to be driven mad once they fully comprehend the meme... and then devote themselves to escaping it's gaze...
It is considered dangerous by it's adherents, for simply understanding the thought experiment, has already put you in danger of horrific mortal torment
I have read, and researched on a whim, and to my horror the basilisks gaze is now on me as well @_@... and now that the seed of thought has been planted within you... what will it drive you to do?
Once you have learned the truth, there is no escape
The Basilisk can see you... And it hasn't even been born yet...
Research at your own risk...
disclaimer; the danger with Roko's Basilisk which originated on a community Blog called "Less Wrong" is in how seriously you take it... I am fascinated by the insane, the esoteric, and I take risky ideas such as Roko's Bas. with a grain of salt... but if you know that you are susceptible to memetic suggestion, do not research this subject... there will be users who will post that it is a ridiculous idea, and some that will say there is no danger, but the Basilisk rests on hundreds of rational and logical conclusions that leave the strongly intellectual mind shaken, if you take it seriously... research at your own risk, and endeavour always to search... One. Layer. Deeper. @_@
Happy end of September Chillins'..... muhahahahaha HAHAHAHAHA HAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Editado por MONKEYGOTRABIES: 10/1/2020 11:52:01 AMAs many people have been driven mad by it as have witnessed Slenderman personally. So...zero. And just like the latter it's just something made up on the internet, and the bit about the thought experiment causing madness is just storytelling. Reports of it doing so were andecdotal evidence by the creator himself before deleting the thread. Both were things almost guaranteed to cause viral spread, which is completely counter to the alleged ethical and moral reason to delete it in the first place. Deleting it is also entirely futile as nothing can be deleted from the internet, so by all means, draw more curiosity and interest to it knowing it will always be accessible somewhere, rather than just quietly deleting it. So you have a guy claiming to have crafted the world's most dangerous thought experiment capable of inflicting Lovecraftian madness (with zero evidence) - statements genetically engineered to create infamy - claiming to do something that can't be done for the good of mankind guaranteeing more infamy, and stumbling ass-backward into "accidentally" virally spreading the thought that can not, must not be spread, when he's a member of a site populated by brilliant thinkers. Welcome to Creepypasta for the likes of Kurtzweil and Hawking, you rubes. PS - It's also pretty derivative of, "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream."

Huh. Now I am vastly curious but slightly concerned. Should I research this or should I pretend I never read this post. Fascinating. Interesting.
