Revelry Orb Generation - Disabled in Raids, Gambit, Gambit Prime, and Comp
Hey all,
We’ve been tracking an issue where [b]Guitar[/b] errors were appearing frequently in Raids, Gambit, and Gambit Prime since the Revelry event went live. Through our investigation, we’ve found that Orb generation off of precision kills, specific to Revelry, are causing these errors.
Effective immediately, we’re disabling precision Orb generation for these activities for the remainder of the event. Additionally, we will be disabling this functionality in Competitive Crucible. While we are unable to disable the effects of Tonic buffs, we have the ability to disable Orb generation which has been a topic of feedback since Revelry went live.
Triumphs and Bounties associated with Revelry orb generation may be completed in Quickplay Crucible playlists, Strikes, Patrols, Black Armory Forges, and the Verdant Forest.

How are we supposed to get whatever it is you give to finish the bounties? All I have left is the one bount for orbs generated in teh crucible and gambit.......................................................please respond

1 ResponderThanks Bungie for reminding me why I have lately passed on playing Destiny. I have completed call triumphs for the Revelry except the Verdant Light Competitive. I have given up trying to complete this in crucible. I do like Gambit. It's a shame you weren't competent enough to find a way for us to complete this. Now non competitive crucible is filled with try hards working on this and since orbs aren't guaranteed for headshots you have now relegated the party harder triumph to try hards in crucible. Congratulations, I'm sure this is not what you intended but this is what you have done all the same.

10 RespostasThis ain't it chief. Generating orbs in crucible is inconsistent...it also means going into what I like to called Skip Grenade land. Seriously, it's every game. Lessen the triumph to 100 orbs made at least. Ya know, you cut the possible activities in half...so cut down the requirements by half.

6 RespostasWell this really sucks. I have gotten 154 orbs in Gambit with NO problems, NO guitar errors or anything. I'm terrible at crucible, and looks like I won't get the damn triumph. That's NOT fair. Thanks Bungie

4 RespostasRe-enable it and accept that you're just going to have to suffer people being pissed off or "auto complete" the triumph for people who don't want to play crucible in the shit show that you've turned it into. Not asking. Get it done. You -blam!-ing nitwits have no problem making instant responses to issues like this but people tell you to get cores out of infussion and you're like "hurrrr don't know man that takes work, like, we'd have to go into the office for 5 minutes instead of smoking weed and watching porn all day, we went to work for bungie because we don't have to do our jobs". This was not a pvp event. Either suck it up and turn the orbs back on or automatically complete the crucible triumph and say "oops we -blam!-ed up because we're bungie and screwing up is actually all we're good at". I am not playing hours of the most toxic, worst balanced pvp experience in the entire global market because you -blam!-ed up.

1 ResponderSo the grind is gonna be harder now for everyone who didn't get those triumphs done in the first couple days. Cool. I love this game, barely play anything else due to time constraints these days, but things like this happening repeatedly can get exhausting. People who are in the right place at the right time get to take advantage of exploits or easier paths to triumphs, enhancment cores, etc., and it can feel like a ladder is getting pulled up behind the fortunate first in line, making it harder for the rest of us.

34 RespostasI have played Destiny since day one. I have supported this game through all kinds of stupid decisions made by the devs. The complete an utter incompetence it takes to not understand the obscene negative effects of the tonic in crucible is a breaking point for me. It is beyond my comprehension to understand how you didn’t see this coming and how you didn’t have a plan to turn this off for the crucible. Your sorry “adjustments” noted above is the type of horrible decision making demonstrated by your staff that will make even the most hardcore fans of this game walk away. Simply put, think before you make something go live. Analyze the impacts and make an educated decision. You guys are failing and I bet I can speak for a lot of die hard fans here that if you don’t fix yourself you are going to lose your fan base.

167 RespostasSo to get the triumph for generating those orbs in Gambit or Crucible, PvE players are now [b]FORCED[/b] into PvP once again. Where they'll need to get 200+ precision kills since not every precision kill generates the orbs. Awesome. Dicks.

12 RespostasThis is not how you generate player support If you feel the "need" to disable orb generation in Gambit, Gambit Prime, and Comp, then you should also feel the need to update the triumph associated with competitive. Options: 1. Auto-complete the triumph 2. Reduce the number of triumphs needed for "Party Harder" to 10 3. Change the competitive triumph from orb generation to a reduced number of precision final blows in any of the competitive activities - including Crucible or Gambit.

You should have done that the second you decided to disable the triumph. I mean do you have any idea how hard it is to get headshots in PvP with grenades being thrown up your ass constantly? You could have at least let us complete the triumph in regular gambit, that game mode doesn't matter anymore anyway, like QP.

3 RespostasNow I can't complete the last triumph....by the way...crucible quick play orb generation DOES NOT WORK EITHER.....got plenty of head shots and the triumph does not update....the Verdant Light triumph is now unobtainable.....thanks Bungie for screwing up and not making it right for all your players.......

24 RespostasThis is a joke, right? How the hell are we supposed to finish the triumph about Gambit or Crucible if you disabled it in Gambit entirely? Like wtf, I am[b] FORCED[/b] to go to pvp and have over 600 kills (considering it does not always spawn light orbs) against other players throwing grenades and super like rain? At this point, I am wondering if there is like a masochistic intent behind your decision to really make your players hate you. Nevertheless, was that so hard to change the requirements of the objective to be completed or remove it entirely at this point? Let's repeat this all together: [b]NOT. EVERY. -blam!-ING. DESTINY. PLAYER. LIKES. PVP.[/b] You gotta respect both of the categories, none of them or just remove pvp or PvE aspect from your game and just focus on one of them if you cannot handle to come up with some BALANCE that would allow the players to decide what they prefer between the two. modes. I am tempted to report this message you just posted here on the forums as DISRESPECT. P.S. Next time also, think about informing the players in the game with a tiny notification about what the hell you are doing. Time is precious, not just for you.

2 RespostasBungie, I actually love PVP and I am a reasonable player (1.6 KDA). However, this is an incredibly difficult milestone to accomplish and i’m sure it is even frustrating for skilled players. The reward for an obstacle should be equally proportional to the amount of struggle that it is fraught with. This particular case is not a balanced equation especially when precision shots don’t reward orbs 100% of the time. I played a game where I scored at least four sniper head shots and was not rewarded an orb. It seems like only primaries reward orbs and you know the difficulty behind what everyone keeps reiterating. Either remove tonic effects from ALL PVP (as you easily did with Comp.), return Gambit-based eligibility, or simply give all players the triumph. Do you really want your remaining loyal players to be pissed off at you? What exactly is the upside of not taking one of the three above actions? What exactly do you gain from that? As a game developer, your bottom line is driven by sales. Sales are driven by satisfied customers. And, there is an old adage saying that, “the customer is always right”.
