  • The fast cool downs allow you to play fast and aggressive, like in D1. The heavy spawning is great for fishing out campers and make winning the first engagement of every round, pivotal. With only two players, it makes it a lot more manageable to go 1v2 and you get a lot more 1v1 engagements. The sudden death round allows for heroic/clutch moments that we've all been asking for. If these cool downs were implemented into the D2 sandbox for crucible, but scaled back to D1 cool down times. It would make 1vX's a lot more manageable and people would play a lot more aggressively, especially combined with the movement speed boost. But, all in all. This is the most fun I've had in D2 crucible, by a mile. Mayhem was OK but the supers and grenades regenerated too fast to be able to really use your guns, and the gun-play is 90% of why I play the crucible still. This cooldown in Crimson Doubles allows for a very good mix of both gun-play and abilities.

  • I thought everything you got during the event should dismantle into Bright Dust? Just dismantled a Undeterred Exotic Sparrow that i got from a Crimson Match and it didnt gave Dust but Legendary Shards. Could you explain this one? Because i could swear in a TWAB saying everything from the event you dismantle will become Bright Dust

  • Nope. Don’t plan on it as D1 PvP ***KILLS*** D2 and it’s not even close. Especially for solo players like me. Quit D2 weeks ago and haven’t looked back. Regrinding D1 (love it) and enjoying the solo PVP play (love it). Thanks for asking tho! #returnedtoD1

  • Only played one game so can't really comment yet. I like the buff mechanics though - really neat idea.

  • It's decent. It may need some tuning to slow down power ammo and grenades. I had a match where I was just spammed with skip grenades. They didn't kill us, but it was definitely annoying. The amount that power ammo spawns is just dull because that just declares where the fight happens as you have to camp it. I would have liked some sneaking around and mobility. Overall, 2v2 seems to fit the current teamshot meta. I'm not sure that it would drag me back to PvP much, but it's a breath of fresh air.

  • I concur with most of the comments below. It’s really fun, and I’m loving the new map. Pace of the game is good too! The only improvement I can think of relates to the overall game. With the elimination of random rolls, the uniqueness and customization (the ‘wow’ factor) of drops has really suffered. I’ll post a mod based idea that may work within the framework of D2 on a different post. Thank you for looking for our input!!

  • To be honest, the event is one step in the right direction, but D2 as a whole is still 20 steps back from where it needs to be. The event doesn't really introduce new content, just reskins and recycled content already in the base game, so I am not finding any incentive to put my game time into this timed event. The rewards are lackluster at best. Gear looks great but the focus on cosmetics and "looks" isn't enough to keep me engaged. 5 out of 10 at best in my opinion.

  • Player with communication hug the power ammo brick and puts the opposing team at a disadvantage. Remove the power ammo and let the guns do the talking.

    It is fantastic. I ran into people who haven't been playing in months. Strangers were messaging us and joining our party just to say hi. I ran into a couple of former (self proclaimed) top 500 players that invited us to a party after they curb stomped us, as they had noticed we have still been playing Trials. They asked if we had run into so and so, and we had! About 3 times to be exact. It was great to have the top and the bottom back in the crucible, people were back and all having fun. This is why we need 6v6 clash all the time, and trials to be back to elimination. We are here to shoot faces, not activate the thing, not stand in the circle for x amount of time, not pick stuff off the ground. You can run weekly playlists that reward us for standing in the circle, picking up the thing and activating the dohicky, but we as a base to thrive need to just have run around and shoot eachother mode as our bread and butter. I want steak and potatoes, you can feed me cucumber sandwiches here and there but let me play clash most of the time.

  • Didn’t think I’d enjoy the 2 vs 2, but happy to say it has been fun! Good pace to the matches which are fairly close most of the time. Ability spam is a bit crazy, but overall a nice addition to the PVP in D2.

  • It’s fine, but it can’t stand up on its own. It needs better loot to make me actually want to play it. A single new weapon in the loot pool with a really rare drop rate would’ve been enough to make me play, but it’s just cosmetic rewards. That’s the problem with all the pvp modes, they’re just not fun enough on their own to merit me playing more than a match or two. You could go one of two ways with this: reintroduce random rolls and put crucible exclusive weapons in there like eyasluna. Or you could introduce more enjoyable pvp modes like capture the flag, big team battle, griffball, or vehicle battles. A shotty/sniper only game mode. Something spicy. NOT rift.

  • So far so good, I like the ability recharge rates and movement also feels good. burnout feels just as great as burning shrine, minus...you know...the Sun. Haven't tried matchmaking yet but I Can't wait to hop back on when I get off of work.

    I've been enjoying it. Although yesterday my buddy and I came across a team of two hunters wearing shinobus and they spammed skip grenades the entire match. Still beat them so it's all good

    • Would love the new map to be the first one I play. Instead I was placed on one of the standard maps. I only got to play one round but I want to see new content more than old

    • Actually really enjoying the pace of the rounds and the teamwork needed more than I thought I would. Regen speed while in proximity to a teammate is just about perfect and the opening battle for heavy is fun. Rewards handed out post match are generous as well. However, if ANYTHING comes from this event, it is that 'The Burnout' 100% must be added to permanent rotation afterwards. Fantastic map and setting and showcases how much better the D1 maps were in comparison to D2.

    • Two matches. That was plenty of ability spam simulator the game for me. Not that in the market for more ghosts and shaders...

    • PVP - The timing of the matches and the format feel pretty good. When you get matched against people that out of your league at least the matches don't last long. I've had a few good matches that felt like it could have gone either way. I'm not sure I like having to stick with another player, but it is useful to get you abilities back before you try to flank. 2v2 does allow you to play more aggressive and you don't have to worry about someone spawning in on top of you. Rewards are slow to drop and already received a duplicate on a 2nd account. (undeterred sparrow) I didn't receive any bright dust for deleting it. I'm guessing that is the plan. I'm wondering if there is any point in playing multiple characters.
