I just can't understand why Bungie continues to make a worst system every few seasons or expansions that manage to cap us even more than the last one. They replaced our Weekly Seasonal challenges, which were a huge source of XP, and some Bright Dust, with a system that seems to pay out far less than even Pathfinder.
I miss when we could complete weekly Vendor challenges and get 1200BD per character. Even Pathfinder was better than this. All it needed were some more tweaks, but you abandoned it for the Portal, and now you've replaced even the weekly Seasonal Challenges with this. At least increase the BD and XP for Common and Legendary orders, and remove the daily/weekly cap of Bright Dust you get from them.

2 RepliesEdited by Zonepatrol: 12/9/2025 6:01:09 PMI disagree. Orders are better. By a large margin. It simplifies the tasks. It can be rerolled for glimmer. Viewable and changeable within menus. Drops are smaller but more aligned with task difficulty. You don’t need to change your game type to finish. The first minus is that they reset daily. The second is that amount of rewards are aligned to number tasks completed. So no huge drops you have with weekly. Pathfinder, weekly, and bounties had many more problems than this.

Bounties and seasonal challenges were my bread and butter. I'd track the heck out of them and make so much progress on the seasonal ranks. The xp system is less rewarding for these orders, but maybe that's because the orders are slightly faster to acquire/complete? Still feels unbalanced

I miss the Weekly Vendor Bright Dust too. It gave yet another incentive to login with all three of your characters. Now? You barely need to play any other character besides your main.
-
There also seems to be a cap on Bright Dust. Probably the last hundred orders i completed last week had zero Bright Dust drops.
-
5 RepliesDo you fully understand the system? It is way better than the old system. The orders actually give a ton of bright dust and there is no weekly limit. You also get plenty of loot from them as well. Plus if you don't like one you can reroll it. This is way better than the old pathfinder system (which I also liked). I like it and think it's quite useful.

Rage bait??

Nah this system is better

Since Renegades came out, I have 29 reward pass ranks. I have not swapped my loadout for any common orders. And I have completed over 100 if I had to guess. The only time I look at them is to collect my reward. This is way better in my opinion than seasonal challenges. Though I wouldn’t mind having both implemented. I got in late 2 seasons ago and the seasonal challenges sent me from rank 50 to 110+ when I turned all the ones I did in at once. That is no longer an option.

4 Repliesthe current order system rewards players for playing more instead of just doing challange, if you play more you get more xp compared to seasonal challange and a little more of bd compared to last season
-
I like the Orders system (I assume you mean the "bounties" we have in the seasonal menu?). Sure, the rates for higher rarity bounties are at times too low. But on the other hand, I would prefer if the game wouldn't shower you with loot and crap every 2-3 minutes. Like, I honestly think we should go back to Destiny 1 RoI drop rates. But that's besides the point and topic. Compared to prior systems, I am at least doing SOMETHING instead of NOTHING regarding those side objectives. Before the rework, I never bothered to pursue or follow them even, unless in the last 1-2 weeks of a season.

To make it seem like we're actually getting "content".
-
4 RepliesI think you actually do understand and that's ACTUALLY what your topic is about. 😇👍💠 It's objectively better, lol.

Duno if I’m the only one, but I actually really liked the pathfinder system. Unlimited bright dust and xp and there was one for each mode. But bungie had something the worked and stuffed it.
-
I don’t really care about the bright dust but the xp gains seem lower.I think I only got to 7 over the weekend.
-
just reduce the "replace" cost of orders. 50k glimmer is a lot when you need 50 orders for a weekly challenge (not everyone have time to play daily). it should be max 10k. and stop giving me same order i just replaced. it gives me crucible order 4 times in a row, took 200k glimmer. as someone said in the comments, looks like they only care for in-game matrix. it should be like if i only have 2 to 3 hours on a weekend i should be able to grind 20 weekly ranks. previously it was just like that.

I also don't like "orders." And also the "Portal." They give not enough XP and demand practically constant loadout changes. That's annoying... "Weekly Challenges" had the advantage that they could be administered by oneself over the whole season or respective episode, but that autonomy is now gone. Like so much freedom in Destiny 2. It's unfathomable what level of control Bungie generates with all of those guidelines. 4 of 10 planetary vendors lost their bounties, most likely because they wanted to push players into the "Portal" and throttle XP because of fear of less in-game metrics. There are always fewer alternatives. And while Bungie, with his mentality of a dinosaur, is still trimming his audience, other developers of live service games expand in content and variables.

Edited by BoomboxCollosuss: 12/9/2025 3:00:03 AMJust another failed attempt at plagarism for Darth Bungo. They thought they could shoehorn Helldivers into the game but they don't have the finesse or subtlety to pull it off, so it just ends up looking like a sadder Dollar Store version of the game they are ripping off. Just sad and pathetic really.

More shiny crap to click on …🥱

Which I guess you could also argue makes it less engaging.

3 RepliesNah orders are great. They're auto-renewing bounties that you don't have to pick up from a vendor.

4 RepliesSorry, but are people hurting for bright dust these days? I’ve been sitting at 10k for 4 years
