Well put. I posted this exact article in a few threads earlier today.
I ventured that the accomplished 2 pillars Number 1 and 5. But a lack of chat and matchmaking for end game content hurts 5 and kills 6, since a lack of communication/matchmaking means many skill levels will never get to attempt the raid.
Furthermore, this was only two years ago, how could so much change or simply not make it into the game?

Thanks, I may have found the article trough your post. Number 1 may be one of the stronger ones indeed. About a year before launch, the main story writer took off. Also, I'm betting Activision demanded focus on some nasty priorities when launch date got closer (read: cuts). This may also be the reason for the story guy to take off, as all the cuts wrecked the dream for him. This is all speculation, but it seems a reasonable explanation of what happened. I do not expect Bungie to clarify that at all. I just want them to make up for the stuff they (maybe forcibly) ignored to do well. I mean, the money shouldn't be an issue at this point. If they are having problems with the volume of feedback from the community they got the power to hire more people.
