Cross Save
My account has a steam account linked which is not mine? i cannot authenticate to remove it so im at a bit of a stump here? I have a steam account and mostly played on Xbox (which is still linked). Can anyone help me here as i'd much like to play on my PC rather than console.

3 OdpowiedziHi there, Thanks for reaching out. Regarding the specific Steam account in question, it's linked to your Cross Save setup, and has been since 2022. This means it was successfully authenticated when it was added to Cross Save. Further, the account name is somewhat similar to the name on your linked Epic account, suggesting it belongs to the same person. If the Epic account is yours, then the Steam account should be yours as well. If you still believe the accounts belong to a third party, though, we recommend consulting our [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360048721292-Account-Security-Guide]Account Security Guide[/url] for advice. However, Bungie entrusts players with the security of their accounts and login information. In that case, you would need to reach out to Epic and/or Xbox support teams for assistance with the platform accounts. In any case, since March 25th's [url=https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/35597981889300-Notice-Bungie-net-Account-Unlinking-Update-on-March-25-2025]unlinking update[/url], only Twitch accounts are now eligible to be unlinked from Bungie profiles. All other platform accounts, once linked, are linked permanently. Further, as Bungie entrusts players with the security and management regarding linking their accounts, we do not unlink any accounts on players' behalf. Thus, the Steam account in question will remain linked.

1 OdpowiedźHey there - the Steam account could only have been added by someone who had access to at least one of your logins (not your visible profile names) plus the corresponding password. So if you do not know who added it at all, you'd need to be securing your other accounts with a password change and 2FA, or else your accounts will never be safe. Unfortunately as of March 2025, it is not possible to unlink platform accounts at all. Before then, it was not possible to unlink accounts without authenticating them, so the change didn't affect you that much. Bungie will not remove the account on their end, and there are no workarounds nor exceptions being given. If you wish to play the game on Steam, you do have an Epic Games account linked too, and also as XBox Live is linked too, could play through the XBox for Windows PC store version.
