Siva Axe in Ash and Iron.
Maybe it was explained and I missed it, but assuming it wasn't... The new exotic mission seems to take place in the Plague Lands at a war sat facility. The reward is the new exotic heavy axe which is cool. It also happens to be a siva infused axe, but it uses quicksilver siva nanites. I know bungie is allergic to old siva but how is the axe that has been sealed away in the plague lands using the perfected Neptune siva?

The exotic quest could be foreshadowing for the future. The siva nanites were the basis for Quicksilver technology. It is possible that one of Maya’s goals is to create her own stash of quicksilver nanites. Or potentially a different form of nanites Heck, utilizing this technology and the echo, it could be that she might transform her collective of Vex into something entirely different. Just as Scorn are something different from the Eliksni. ========================================== On another note, without the Quicksilver, the ax is noticeably damaged. So the quest could be a narrative way of showing how the iron lords have healed from the siva incident. Combining the two into a perfect weapon.

Even with Siva gone they could have at least made SIVA weapons that at least would have made a lot of players happy They could easily made the reissue weapons from Rise of Iron since they are still currently using the same weapons models or use Black Armory weapon skins and alter them

Either way, it’s a shame we get the Siva with no rizz.

Maybe it’s linked to Cloudstrider Stargazer and his squad. In the lore they came to earth to wipe any mention of neomuna from Rasputin’s database. Maybe they accidentally left some nanites there? Or made that with whatever warmind tech they could find, making a hybrid weapon
