Bungie name Help!!

i recently returned to the game after maybe 5 years and my bungie name is now guardian5427 i cant remember if it was always like that or i changed it back in the day and something happened while i was gone for ages, if there anyway i can get this changed?
ive tried to change it and it just says you can only change it once. please help!!
