Hey there. If you can enter a new name on your profile, it means you do have a name change available.
If the name is not being accepted, it is due to some of the names that were hit, not being properly unlocked as intended. That's a known issue and is under investigation.
If you have no name tokens available, it says this in red text, and you are unable to enter a new name at all.

see thats the problem thou, i never recieved one in the first place, even thou they said people was meant to recieve one, its either that or they have pulled some giant amateur move and put a limited time on using it.

So just to be totally sure, when you look at your name box in your settings, it says in red text, 'you have no name changes available'?

if you mean under identify settings which i assume, since that seems to be the only place where you can change stuff related to your name afaik. then there is no red text with you have no name changes available, but there is nothing that says i do either. its showing the suggested name, which is the name i had originaly, but if i click on that and press on the save settings, it will just revert back to the guardian one i have now.

Gotcha - so just to confirm then, you DO have a name change available. The issue is that the name you are trying to use, is not being accepted by the filter. When the name reset wave happened, that locked those old names and will prevent you from re-using them, and will also prevent many variations on it too. Bungie attempted to unlock these recently but it looks like it did not work for everyone, yourself included. But yeah, you do have a name change token if you wanted to use it, or wait for the old name to be unlocked. (The recommended name thing doesn't run any of its suggestions through the filter so even before any name change wave issues, it may suggest things that the filter will not accept).

nope i dont have a name change, because from what i can understand it will actuelly show an icon and say something about you have a name change, thats what i dont understand, because from what i could understand a while ago, everyone was meant to get one. i just never recieved mine, its either that or they put some sort of time limit on how long you can use it, but that would seem really idiotic to do such a thing, and given all the things that has happened as of late, that would just be shooting them self in the foot if they did that. and the whole filter thing i get, i also tryed just to remove the ´ in Lord Shaxx´s Punching Bag. that didnt work either, it also says you can only change your bungie name one time, and thats why i dont get it, because everyone was supose to get the name change, and the only time in all of my time with d2 ive changed name was waaaaaaaaay back in whatever expansion they gave one out in years ago? i think

It doesn't explicitly tell you that you do have one but it will explicitly tell you if you don't. Brand new profile made a few mins ago: No tokens used: https://i.imgur.com/db7H1eT.png First token being used: https://i.imgur.com/mhHXlQS.png After 3rd token used: https://i.imgur.com/6b2IJNF.png After it had no remaining tokens left, the red text appeared and the suggested names options went as well - prior to that it had tokens but didn't explicitly say so.

Names that got hit by the wave (and variants!) may still be blocked from re-use. That's why it isn't working. You're wrong about an icon and about there being a 'you do have changes' notification.
