I have a little request that would be more of a quality of life change.
I really loved how there were checkpoints implemented in the legendary difficulty missions so that one can canoe back later if so desired.
This week one needs to complete the exotic mission to progress the seasonal story.
As I don’t have a huge amount of time on my hand (a bit more than an hour a day) it would mean a lot to me if that checkpoint system was also implemented for exotic missions especially when they are mandatory for story progression.
Soon rest comes along and I’m no closer to getting that mission done.
I understand people might tell I should just go and LFG or stick through it. But I’d really enjoy those types of missions when I have time for them and the way I enjoy them most.
Not sure how many players might feel the same way. I’d really appreciate if the Destiny 2 Team could consider this option for future missions.

Agree. Noticed its part of the story mission quest this week as well *sigh*. Did it solo last week week, it was fun, but its soo long. Having to start over is such a drag. Had to quit mid mission tonight due to life. Not really feeling amped up having to do it all again from start. Boring traversing in the beginning. Might sit this one out until i can rally some clan mates to speed things up.

I completely agree. Check points and stop with the red fail screen where you lose about 30 minutes. I beat the subjecator and the animation started when I beat the tormentor but must have been low on health because I got the red fail screen. I then spawn back end about 30 minutes from when I died. I was so mad I quit playing for awhile. I'm all for earning exotic weapons but at least give us check points spawn back where we died. What is the point of the red fail screens anyway? To drive users away?

I hate this new campaign/exotic mission. I've run it 3x. Quit first time not knowing there wasn't a checkpoint. Had to start over. 2nd time finally gave up on boss fight. Couldn't finish it. Tried a 3rd time and still couldn't finish boss fight. Now an seeing there's a bug that won't let you finish. I don't want to keep wasting an hour+ on this mission. I'm over it.

you should not be forced to do any exotic mission for seasonal content. seasonal content should not have a high difficulty. that is for dungeons and raids and higher nightfalls. some might never finish the seasonal story. make an exotic mission as hard as you want but do not require any of it for campaign or seasonal content.

Won’t ever happen as it’ll be abused to just run boss cp’s and skip the expert version all the way up to the boss.

Agree. The campaign missions can retain checkpoints across weekly resets and patches, but exotic missions, dungeons and raids all lose them. Bungie already have the capability to add this, the clearing of these checkpoints is by design, it forces players to dedicate large chunks of their time to the game, then they spam you with popups about depression and anxiety!

Running the second time around and working on the puzzle at work shop vex gate and im not sure what happened but i guess i went through a gate and ended up in a cave. I needed a red “delete” key to get out of cave. Couldnt figure a way out so i quit. Was going to quit anyways because i was getting the water effect on my character and weapons the WHOLE. NIGHT. starting with the exotic mission.

Sure, good to me, have an up vote! While we are at it... Playing for an hour just to fall through the floor by the Tamper vex column is a real killjoy as well😊
