As always, great writing. Now, for my lore analysis.
We already fought our Nightmares, those being Crota, Ghual, and Fikrul. It was through putting these nightmares to rest that we could then help Eris clear the nightmares of her own fireteam, and then later, in season of the Haunted, cleanse the Nightmares of Crow, Caital, and Zavala. We then go on to fight the Final God of Pain, Nezerec, who is the very source of nightmares. I guess it could be said that the Guardian would still have the potential for nightmares, especially with your version of the Guardian, but within the main story, it almost seems as though the Guardian is beyond their own nightmares.
Now, the backstory of the Guardian that you have given has no precedent within the current narrative, so there is nothing really to compare, but I do have a couple questions. Was the Guardian reincarnated every single time they moved from civilization to civilization, and if they were the Gardener (Like that of the woman that was supposed to originally appear back on Mars during D1) how come the Traveler did not recognize them. This also gets into a couple questions, especially, why is the Guardian not the next Speaker, as the relationship the Guardian would have with the Traveler would be insanely unique. We have gotten visions from the traveler before (during the Red War) but not quite like the Speaker. Honestly I don’t really know what to say about this section.
As always, good job and good read. It is getting a bit fanfic-y.

These aren't the Guardian's nightmares anymore. They belong to someone else, and he only has them because he has the memories of that gardener. Not THE Gardener, but a gardener, a member of the Precursors. Basically, this is a fanfic about the Guardian being that one Precursor that didn't join with the Witness. I didn't really think about that connection with the Traveller though. That will be interesting to sort through. Thanks for these lore analyses, by the way. They really help out, like an editor or something.
