That's one place I wonder how much of their history is actually on display. Without getting too deep, the only things I'd really have any interest in seeing or visiting there would be the Weinstenphaner brewery, and the Nurburgring.

I went to the old Nurburgring when F1 was still racing there in 1972-3. Saw Emerson Fittipaldi, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill and others. Also went to Hockenheim and saw the 1,300 hp Porsche 917 race.

That would have been freakin EPIC!!! I can't watch F1 or Indycar today with the same enthusiasm since the hybrid era. The engines are sound so mundane now. Almost as drab as the old Audi eTron diesel. Sure the thing flew, but it sounded boring.

Ah, the Nurburgring.........I saw plenty of episodes of 'Top Gear' featuring that track. The version with the Jeremy, James, and Richard; not whoever is on the show now.

It's fascinating, but German history beyond recent history is rich and deeply rooted in the time of kings and queens and empires! Romans! Germanians! Goths! And more! The history I'm interested in is the pre World War History, the Knights! The Teutons! The Dukes and Duchesses; the Holy Roman Empire! NEUSCHWANSTEIN! Crazy King Louis! 🤴 And the architecture... don't get me started... sure the War monuments, checkpoint charlie, the camps- whatever- I do want to stand there and be in those places to see them and know and feel the deep sadness I have always felt when thinking about the Shoah and War. But there is SO. MUCH. MORE. :)
