Gundyr was a hard boss for me, likely because I refused to summon for him. He'd challenged me to open, non-gimmicky combat, and he needed the chance to prove he was not Iudex.
He proved it all right. Took me like 3 days before I beat the man.

Sounds like it was an epic battle.
-
It was. Finally got used to dodging his brutal kicks, and learned to parry a couple attacks.
-
I only recently learned to parry, mainly with the target shield. I'm gonna try with the Irrithyll sword and a 100% shield, and the Sword Master exploit, if that still works.
-
He was like the only enemy I parried in my entirety of DS3. In bloodborne I could do it easily, but in dark souls I always got wrecked. I think it was because they were too far away when I'd press the button but maybe I just suck.
-
Well, different shields have different frames, and Bloodborne is a different beast (no pun intended) than Dark Souls, so that's probably one of the reasons. (I'm on Xbox 1 if you're planning on helping me x3)

Sorry. I'm PS4, but I thought id give the post a creative bump so someone else might see ya.
-
Thank you x3 Does the Sword Master exploit still work, btw?
-
I don't know. As I said, I fought him fair and square.

Ah, yes. Well, tally ho! I need to find someone who will join me in Jolly Cooperation...
