My friends are arguing that if you're a guy, all your characters should be male, and vice versa for the females. I keep telling them that in this game, gender is more about customization rather than identity. What do you guys think?

I just want a beard for my character

People still talking about this nonsense? Geeze.

Identity argument is weakened by the presence of purple-people and Robo-folk. And space magic. My Warlocks are purple space-magicians from the future. I am not sure how my "identity" meshs with that. I tried making "myself" in game - none of the face models look like me. None of the haircuts look like mine. None of the body shapes looked like mine. The point of indentification was the assumed, yet virtual, external sexual organs - which also seems to rule out Exos unless they have balls of steel and a towel rack. I could choose to have my Guardian look like an oaf or a member of a boyband - or a purple oaf and someone for the Blue Man Group. Nah. screw that. Video game. Do what I want.

Ima girl and tend to play as a guy because of the more expansive range of customization. But I'm kinda starting to get into playing as a girl character. They are videogames and aren't meant to be based on real life so I just do whatever I feel like ☺ BTW cool thread, its good to think about.

It's your game, do whatever you like.
