Dear BUNGIE, having played a lot of Vanguard and barely any Crucible except for a slight bit to finish the Thorn hand cannon bounty (which was ridiculous), I wanted to hear from you, or for you to sort out the issue of why Vanguard marks are so worthless.
If you notice, you can buy things from all the factions with Crucible marks but not Vanguard marks. How is this fair? Should I really be penalised for the fact I do not enjoy spongey, double jumping (sometimes triple) PVP?
The way I see it is that I earned my Vanguard marks by putting the time in and now that I have everything from the two Vanguard dealers that I need (such as the weapons, sparrows and previously armour), I would now like the option of buying merchandise from the factions. It is really not fair that Crucible marks can be spent at five different vendors and Vanguard marks at only two.
It really does feel like the people who prefer to play Vanguard are being punished as you also have The Iron Banner which is exclusive to PVP to get gear from too. I would like you to sort this problem out it at least explain your reasoning behind this ridiculous scenario that PVE players find themselves in, as I know many who feel this way.

3 RepliesIt takes a while, but you can rank up the other factions by equipping their class item, and then trading in planetary materials (spin metal, helium, relic iron, spirit bloom) for crucible marks. You still won't be able to buy from Shaxx or the crucible quartermaster if you don't play there (not enough crucible rep level), but future war cult, dead orbit, and new monarchy can be leveled up without stepping one foot inside PvP. Granted, your return rate on materials vs. crucible marks is basically 10 to 1, as you have to turn in 50 materials at a time to get 5 marks, 25 rep, 250 glimmer and a small amount of XP. I will say at the beginning I was like you, and didn't want anything to do with crucible. I tried a few matches the first week and got stomped, and even avoided a few exotic bounties because of the crucible requirement. I gave it another try when I decided to do the bad juju bounty (no death penalty unlike the thorn one), and only played when there were easy crucible bounties (complete 5 of match type X, kill 25 of this class guardians, earn 50 assists). It's kind of grown on me. I still have games where I get stomped on, but I tend to go at least even k/d, and I've even won a couple of rumble games now. It's definitely a lot more enjoyable when you have a friend or two in your fireteam. Most of my friends don't like crucible either, so I end up doing the bounties on my own.
