Majora's Mask. It felt superior to Ocarina of Time in almost every way. The sense of adventure was still there, except it was larger. Instead of taking down Ganon(dorf) who just wanted to rule Hyrule, you're taking down a powerful deity that only craves destruction and pure evil. A being that goes around ruining almost everyone's lives in Termina, all while bringing down the moon to destroy everyone and everything.
The side quests also involve more depth. When you look at Anju and Kafei's quest, it takes place over all 3 days (from the start of Day 1 to end very end of Day 3) and takes you all over Clocktown and various areas in Termina. You see a small child locking away her father because of a deadly curse put on him. Link relieves the man of the heavy burden he is carrying, and the father and daughter can now live in peace. The postman has been doing only only job his entire life and that is all he does (rigorously and very well I might add). When imminent death is upon Termina, he is tasked with one of the most important jobs he has ever handled, and afterwards he leaves Termina gleefully for the first time.
The gameplay is also preferable. Instead of arbitrary and trivial items you gather in dungeons in Ocarina of Time that you only use once or twice (sometimes not at all) outside their respective dungeons (I'm looking at you Megaton Hammer), the items that are inside of Majora's dungeons are centered around the Bow, and each type of attack is used very well in each dungeon, and outside of them.
Majora's Mask is easily my favorite video game of all time, and that probably won't change. It was a darker Zelda at the time, and I really connected with a lot of the townsfolk and had a grand time exploring the swamps, mountains, canyons and ocean of Termina.
It was a darker Zelda at the time
I've noticed a pattern in the games. One will be happy and upbeat, and the next is dark and gloomy. OoT (happy) -> MM (dark) -> WW (happy) -> TP (dark) -> SS (happy) -> ? (hopefully dark)

Ocarina of Time was my first Zelda game so im a bit biased by it. I loved Majora's Mask though. I was alot darker and i did like that. I kinda disliked having to go back in time and doing stuff over, but the game was brilliantly set up. And using the masks to solve puzzles and get to other areas of the map was pretty awesome.
