I've been hoping for the same thing. I've played a lot of Fallout, Skyrim, and the like, and I really think that a great customization system just adds another layer of immersion. Something more extensive, like what you were talking about with weight, height, and posture would be even better. It would allow you to sort of portray your character's "personality" or even your playstyle just by the way your character looks and holds himself. P.S. If anyone tries to start something with me because of my references to Fallout and Skyrim, so help me God.... I'm not comparing Destiny to pureblood RPG's such as those, just using them as examples.

  • Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to playing Bethesda's franchises but I have seen them in play many times and I respect the depth they have with their story lines and RPG aspects. I am glad to see some other people share the same desire to have deep customization that allows unique diversity within the Destiny community. Everyone wins here. Bungie sticks to their guns; customization is a big aspect of character development. And the fans have more ways to make their hero the way they imagine him/her. And don't worry I understand your meaning by referencing those games. I reference other games as well: Halo, COD, Borderlands, Mass Effect, etc. Thanks for the input bro. I will personally be supporting more RPG elements in the game. Just because it is a shooter doesn't mean it can't be at the very least like an RPG. Borderlands is a FPS but an RPG as well. And according to Ryan McCaffrey's interview with Jason Jones, Jones made it clear that he was disappointed that they didn't create anything in Halo Combat Evolved for replay value; I personally don't agree but further to the point...if Bungie wants to avoid the mistakes they have made in the past, they will do something to create replay value with this game, which I believe RPG elements are the key.

  • For me, one of the most important aspects of an RPG is an extremely well developed storyline with rich backstory and hidden lore secrets found throughout the world. Unlike straight up FPS's (CoD, BF, etc.), RPG's really depend on the story because of their usually slightly worse gameplay mechanics. I'm really hoping that Destiny will have satisfying and seamless combat, but will also implement RPG elements including awesome story and world design, and excellent replay value and customization systems.

  • I can relate and hope for the same. Currently the only game in development that has captured my interest is Destiny. I refuse to get the next Xbox, leaving me with the PS4 which is appealing to me greatly. Unfortunately I won't play anymore Halos but fortunately Destiny is not an exclusive and I can look forward to that gaming experience when the game releases. And even as a kid, RPGs captivated me and I enjoy the depth of their stories they carried as well as the superior replay value no other genre could match. I may not have played as many RPGs as others but they are one of the most enjoyed genres of games I have ever played. I really believe that the RPG elements will make Destiny a strong game. Even those who don't care much for RPGs will find themselves spending countless hours in game anyway. Why not enhance the depth of gameplay and replay value with options that simple FPS aspects cannot offer?
