I can't really recall ... Did strikes ever have a rotation of difference enemy races but for the same strike? Would be interesting to see random enemy classes in different strikes. Cabal/swap with taken, vex swap with fallen so on. Or even having random enemy race incursions in other strikes.

No, D1 didn't do that, but that is really interesting to think about. D1 just had waay more strikes in their playlist. So much so that Bungie divided them up into four categories; (Going off of memory) Legacy strikes Heroic Taken King heroic SIVA heroic The first two were basically just the same with just the early strikes with one list being heroic. The other two focused on strikes that came out or were changed for those particular expansions and were heroic difficulty.
