Why not bring back the modifiers small arms, specialist, and daybreak?
It'll help spice things up in the vanguard playlist. People will dust off their favorite weapons to take advantage of the damage boost and daybreak will add a fun extra level of difficulty mixed with a touch of mayhem. All were in D1 and could easily be put into the rotation.

Edited by Spawn Of Apathy: 7/18/2022 3:38:00 PMIve felt the mode needs to have straight up “party mode” like mechanics. Not unlike when you can have regenerating power ammo in Dares of Eternity. Let’s get crazy a bit too. Maybe bombs only. Those bombs from the corrupted strike, but they have spawns at every encounter. Maybe even various seasonal and unique powerful weapons. Like the vex beam, javelin, synaptic spear, scythe. And for enemies with certain shield types that can only be destroyed by specific weapons. Randomized (Daily) selected Special or Heavy weapon, that is the only weapon type that will get ammo, and it has infinite ammo. All other weapon types equipped have 0 ammo all the time. So when this modifier comes up in rotation it could feature Trace Rifles, maybe another time swords, maybe another time Sniper Rifles, etc. A message comes on screen when you transmat in as to the weapon choice you need. Enemy assignments. Each Guardian is given an aura around them. Red, Blue, Green (whatever) and enemies (mini-boss and below) are also given random auras too that match each player. An enemy with a red aura can only be killed by the Guardian with a red aura. And maybe some modes that only exist if the fire team is premade. No randoms. Like Mayhem rules with friendly fire turned enabled. Instant respawns, lots of ability energy, loads of heavy ammo, but you can kill your teammates. Scoring is based on gaining points for combatant kills, with points subtracted for teammate kills. Escort. One player cannot die and has to be escorted to the end safely. The player cannot use weapons or abilities, but carries a buff that they lose on death. If they still have the buff at strike completion every gets a guaranteed high stat exotic of the same slot as the daily Legend/Master lost sector. These are random each strike/activity, and you get an on screen message telling you what the modifier(s) is so you know the rules when you start each one. Post strike stats can also vary. Like kills per seconds. Kills per attack when using things like bombs or the scythe. Bomb passes.
