There is an old saying. Not sure if this is the right wording but google puts it as "talking is silver, silence is golden".
It is better to not say anything to your opponent after a humiliating defeat in Crucible than typing a "gg" via a message to them. You will, in most cases, just make them even more angrier at the game or your team.
Surely I am not speaking for anyone but myself. But think about it. Defeats in Crucible can be very frustrating on a general basis. For example my recent situation (and why I make this post):
Saying "GG" after a stomp match that goes 5-0 or 5-1 in Trials is basically for the people on the loosing team in most cases like pouring salt into an open wound. You are only hurting their experience more with that, unless they are very tolerant with defeats in this game.
I recommend to say "GG" only in appropriate cases. A humiliating defeat is not such a case.

Sore loser with a poor attitude.

2 RepliesYou think that’s toxic? One time a three stack sent me a message BEFORE the game started saying “GG”
felt good beating them ngl. Was tempted to send back “gg” but refrained.
Now I see why Bungie sells toys

2 RepliesSore loser mentality. Can't even handle a guy being a good sport.

🤦♂️ This can't be real.
-
Just tell them: Get gud scrub and Tbag them. There in so better sign of sportsmanship.
-
It's like shaking the hand of the other team after a game it's good sport mean ship your just being a tailor throwing a fit it's not like haha good game for them there just saying it was great to play against you

I'll just assume you're being real. What a terrible take.

11 RepliesEdited by Guardian3564: 7/10/2022 8:32:12 PMYou’re free to interpret it how you want to, but IMO, whether you win or lose, “GG” is just good sportsmanship and getting mad over someone saying it after you get stomped is just you being a sore loser.
-
1 ReplySounds like you should stop playing pvp if you’re going to get upset over this. I can’t imagine how angry you get when someone is actually toxic 😂
-
8 RepliesPeople are actually complaining about good sportsmanship now? If it's after a blowout, just take it as "even though you lost, I respect the effort you put in enough to say something about it." If they were trying to insult you gg isn't what they'd go with.
-
Is truly is the worst timeline when people are getting upset over GG. Not: GG EZ Not: You guys suck Not: lmao get stomped Just… GG… I remember seeing people say stuff like GLHF before a match and somebody taking it as some sort of taunt. So I suppose anything is possible.
-
Noted, will say "ez" next time instead to avoid being toxic.
-
People take pvp too seriously. Im going to bag ehile they perseverate over losing.
-
this is why ppl need to spell out words.
-
1 Reply"GG" is fine. "GG EZ" is being a -blam!-.

11 RepliesGetting rolled or rolling others, saying "GG" to an enemy team is like when two basketball teams go up against each other and at the end game the two captains on each team shake hands. That's what "GG" basically is. If you find it insulting for a team to send such a message after they rolled you hard, then it just goes to show you that you don't understand any respect. I've rolled many players and I've been rolled by many, regardless I get a lot of messages like "GGs" or even sorry about your carry, hope you get them flawless. I've even had people send friend requests. In fact one of my trials buddies is someone I matched and rolled them and he said "GGs". I ended up playing cards with the same guy.
