Give Outbreak Perfected rapid hit instead of outlaw

It would make the gun fun to play with in PvE. The reload speed really is bad and kills the gun Edit: rabid hit to increase reload for boss dps. I'm not talking about the stability aspect. Having a good reload all the time will make this gun worth it. Besides, timing my shots against barrier champions is so annoying because if I reload normally, they get all their health back too. Thought I should add this to avoid "iT dOeSNt nEEd ThE sTaBIliTy"

    • No. Outbreak is fine how it is. It's designed the way it is for a reason. I use this thing a lot, especially this season and it works great. Would it be good, yes. Does it need it, no. It's already stable enough so your only gain from Rapid Hit would be reload speed. Get better and get headshot kills and you don't need Rapid Hit for reload. It's a primary weapon that does amazing damage already, giving it rapid hit would only increase that damage by negating reload speed against beefier targets. Use your damn heavy instead, that's what it's meant for.

        It's meant for ad clear not dps. It doesn't need rapid hit. Idk if you were around or not but we were able to one phase insurrection prime from the SoTP raid with 6 people using it with 3 WoR Lunafaction warlocks. The whole point is to increase the nanite swarms with precision hits & kills. You wanting rapid hit is going to end up with the nanite swarms being nerfed (which they've done before) effectively ruining the gun. Don't get me wrong rapid hit would be nice because you don't need a kill for the faster reload but it's worth ruining the intrinsic perk of the weapon.

        • Yes 100%, everyone saying otherwise lacks common sense. Making a weapon better for pve without breaking pve should be an automatic duh but we have players that say no just for the heck of it. They dont understand how simple this change would be on outbreak and how much better it could be in pve and yes without breaking pve as a whole. Whatever, everyone can stay ignorant. As long as bungie reads this and makes the decision, thats all that matters.

          • Wait, this again? I think this is the third time I've seen this within the year. Well, any season where a pulse rifle has an anti-champion mod. Anywho, does the suggestion sound like a good idea? Yeah, sure. Does it seem likely to happen? No. Why? The intended design of the gun. Which revolves on the Nanites. Don't worry in comparing how Rapid Hit would increase the Nanite swarms, I get that. But I still disagree. Anytime we have a weapon that gets overused, or becomes an outlier of a weapon used in endgame activity, it gets adjusted (nerfed). We've seen this happen time and again. No one can even guess or say "that will/won't happen" because we don't know what the future seasons hold. I don't think the potential risk of adjusting it for better damage, only to have it nerfed later is worth it. Add Rapid Hit, make more Nanites, do more damage, do too much damage. What's the source? It's not the weapon damage, it'll be the Nanite damage. If Nanites get damage reduction, for any reason, the gun loses its Exotic feel, and stops getting used. Leave "good enough" alone. Bungie's record of looking over weapon use and buffs and nerfs based on usage and data says enough about predicting where things would go. Again, I do see the very high appeal, but firmly disagree with no room for further persuasion. I think the gun is fun and fine as it is.                 • Pretty sure it has a hidden dynamic sway or rodeo. Cant remember what youtuber made the vid showing it versus other pulses. Rapid hit by itself does make a ton of sense for how we use this weapon though

                      • TBH it sounds like a amazing change for me, since if your using it against bosses If say you didn’t have any ammo for your heavy you can use that instead Plus with the idea of exotics doing more damage against some bosses/ red bars or what ever it was it would make it a bit more reasonable I mean think, you killed one add with it and caused a small siva cloud to kill what, by the time your cloud is spawned someone with a weapon made for add clearing already killed everything else Outbreak perfected sounds more like a boss exotic other then a red bar or orange bar add clearer

                        Honestly I’d rather replace [i]Outlaw[/i] & have [i]Perpetual Motion [/i] For that handling, stability & reload (x1/x2) (in motion) buff The gun is slow to handle

                      • Having never really been a Pulse rifle guy I recently picked up Outbreak perfected and it is definitely my favorite primary currently. I will say though, a auto-fire option would be nice when my hand needs a break.

                          If we are talking about boss damage, there are still ways to get around reload speed. Lunafaction rift/well...which there's almost always gonna be or obsidian aspect. A rally barricade, which has insane uptime with high resilience. Hunters have "on your mark" which grants reload speed all just for dodging which can also fully reload the weapon...they can also use sealed ahamkara grasps for a quick reload. I can certainly understand why it could get that perk, but it doesn't really need it. And for those saying "nobody uses it now," that's not gonna change for BOSSES just because it now has rapid hit. In a team, you are almost always gonna have somebody rocking something to help with reload speed for dps and if you are playing by yourself or in a smaller group, chances are outbreak isn't gonna be good enough to use anyways because its dps is still incredibly poor early on. So to the point you are trying to make, it really has no added value like you think it does except for crucible...which would make it a little too strong considering everything else it has going for it. If you had more specific examples as to WHICH bosses this would help with I'd understand...but I can't think of any to where picking outbreak would be more beneficial, even under the effects of a reload speed buff, over our higher powered heavies. And if you make the argument of buffing it to be a better option, you can ALREADY maximize it's reload speed with a decent number of build options. And before you go "but why would I run ophidian aspect or grasps," because you are arguing for using this gun for BOSS damage. If you are using this thing as your primary source of damage, which is the ONLY way it's good, then there's nothing wrong with specing into it. If you want to ACTUALLY buff it's uptime for damage, It'd make a lot more sense to ask for triple tap or fourth times the charm, that way you can capitalize on it's effects longer per reload.

                              • I thought.. Outbreak had intrinsic "persistence", kind of like a dynamic sway. It gets more stable the longer it is fired..having outlaw.. it basically has rapid hit with less work. Might as well strap it to a sharks head. 🕺♂️ 👨‍⚕️😈
