Quick Scenario - Not super duper savvy. Started playing D2 on our PS4 using the game disc that someone gave us. Fell in love and bought the rest of the packages digitally from our Playstation account. Just bought a PS5 today. Would like to do the gameshare but am wondering if it will work.
Can I download D2 which is free these days to my same D2 account on the PS4 and still use the rest of my package safely on both consoles and eliminate the need for the disc to be inserted on the PS4? I hope I'm making sense.

I’d say disc, during ps3 days I had big collection to look at and same goes for ps4, in my opinion, disc is better to just stare at your collection and smile about it :)

Edited by Seraph: 6/25/2022 4:59:29 PMI began out playing Destiny 2 on a disc, and i switched to the digital version when Bungie first created 'New Light'. To the best of my recollection, i dont rember encountering any significant issues. I also transfered my account from PS4 to PS5. Edit I just re-read your post. It should work ( in theory ). I dont know if D2's expansions and Seasons are specific to PS4 or PS5. I assune that of youve bought a Expansion/Season on PS4, it will work your PS5. I'm not sure if it workscthe other way around however. Maybe you should repost this topic in the 'Help' forum, or contact a Bungie staff member.

1 ReplyEdited by Cultmeister: 6/24/2022 9:51:31 PMIf the only thing you have the disc for is the base game then yeah it will work that way. So long as you’re logging in with the same account you could have the game on a floppy disc and it would work.

You’ll be fine. The disc is just for the base game,

When you login with your PS5 you should be able just download everything and be good to go.
