P2P connection was never a good feat in crucible, and with crossplay got even worse.
PvP in Destiny is a frustrating joke mainly because of this, the worst connection you got, the better you can perform because you hit your enemies before they notice you.
It's absurd that a game with the number of daily active players as Destiny has can't have dedicated servers at least for PvP, that seems just cheap.
And I'm not going to talk about weapon balance, because the dev team can't care less about it, and prove to that is the ridiculous submachine gun/pulse rifle meta (please dev team, use your contacts and get yourselves to a shooting range if you can't afford a weapons experts on your team), but please, improve our game experience by giving us dedicated servers.
The way to easily lengthen the life of any FPS is trough PvP, a decent to good PvP can get you years of loyal players with minimum of effort and investment (proof to that is that there's still a lot of people playing the CoD: Modern Warfare Remaster), with 8 years from Destiny's first launch, it's about time you understand that.

1 ReplyI'm gonna say no because you only said pvp

6 RepliesBungie is an extremely greedy POS company. They are not the people who made Halo. They know their networking is literally the worst in all of gaming right now and don't care because it's dirt cheap. They know their matchmaking system and game engine is completely rigged garbage designed to force outcomes in fights and matches overall. But it's dirt cheap and allows them to target whales and prime the pump (wallet). We deserve dedicated servers. It would improve the game immeasurably. It wouldn't cost much, a drop in the bucket relative to their yearly profits. But they are bottom feeding, money grubbing little gremlins. So we have the worst p2p laggy dogsht ever made for pvp instead.

It's not just PVP, even in PVE I regularly see enemies teleporting around that are not supposed to teleport. This game is really starting to show it's spaghetti coding especially with crossplay.
-
2 RepliesI would pay a monthly fee for this. The cross play introduction was the worst thing for pvp. I didn’t really think the connections in this game could get worse. I was wrong. I feel like they’re using two soup cans and a string for their p2p connections.
-
Lol use those micro-transactions to fund content to better the game??? Yeah right they'll just keep charging $40 for 6 hours of content and fanboys will say it's needed uwu reeeeeee stop making fun of the big company😡
-
You people are still asking for that? This is a PvE game. The PvP part is just something to do until the next expansion drops. That's why Bungo waited a few years to make another pvp map.
-
14 RepliesIt’s just not gonna happen. It should’ve happened from the start. P2P shouldn’t be used by any respectable developer or publisher for PvP. It inarguably produces a worse experience for the player than dedicated servers, and is only done to cut corners on cost.
-
1 ReplyThey'll just keep taking our money giving us minimal content and not improving the quality of life of the game. Realistically with the amount of money they make off of their seasons they should be able to implement a dedicated server. Then bring in actual skill based match making because an algorithm where 65% of the matches end with Shaxx saying "I'm calling this one" or Saladin saying "I'm calling it". The mercy rate really drops the enjoyment out of the game. I did have a guy that kept on grabbing the spark in rift and lagging his way to the rift. Dunking it unharmed since noone could hit him (at least the match ended quick lol)

2 RepliesWhy do you people think that Bungie can just flip a switch and install dedicated servers? Pretty sure the game would have to be rebuilt to an extent to function on a totally different system.
-
unpopular opinion, there are people in the community that would pay 5 or even 10 bucks per month to have dedicated servers to play on. I really don't know why Bungie hasn't done this yet. I would pay.
-
12 RepliesJust have good internet.... 🤷♂️
-
1 ReplyNever going to happen. The franchise is in its winter years so it would make zero sense to factor in the cost of DSs.
-
Every season is laggier than the previous one. Bungie does not care.
-
Never going to happen. It didn't happen when they actually cared about pvp. Now they don't even think about pvp at all.
-
6 RepliesNot so long as the majority of PvP is available to f2p. No revenue no incentive to invest, so we're stuck with p2p.
-
It will never happen servers cost a lot of money
-
Why invest into dedicated servers for PVP when they won’t even update it with a decent amount of maps or modes?
-
Ikr you think that they would add it to pvp by now but nope.
-
People have been asking since day 1 D1. 😂😂 Cod and battlefield have dedicated servers, and you dont even need to pay a fee. They maintain them themselves. But that's what you would expect from a proper developer with employees that care about the game and hold themselves to a high standard. Bungie is full of lazy bums who just want their paychecks so they can go home. 😂
-
2 RepliesWon’t change anything. Pvp will still be dominated by special weapon using scrubs. And pvp will remain unpopular until we have more modes, especially a mode not dominate by special weapons scrubs I wish all scrubs would stick to cod. Meatsticks with no skill ruin pvp
-
It needs it. But it won't happen now. Too late. These guys complain about making new content is difficult.😂😂😂 Putting dedicated servers now would make them cry! 😂😂😂 Besides, the budget for this went to the yachts of the board members and senior leadership. 😂😂😂 Cash cow gaming baby!!!
-
It is what PvP needs the most. Bungie will never do it.
-
3 RepliesNever gonna happen.
-
Daddy Sony will save us
-
They would have to rebuild the game so unless a Destiny 3 comes out this will never happen.
-
1 ReplyDedicated servers aren’t an option at this point. The best we can hope for is them in the next ip. But the game would have to be rebuilt to put them in now
