before WQ, i could play destiny 2 just fine, now right after downloading the update and playing for a couple hours, my game freezes and gives me the 'marmot' error code, i read that this means some of my game files are corrupt, so i thought to re-download destiny on my ps4, however that does not fix it. I did notice the download was only 4 Gb and no installing, i could play immediatly. After a couple more hours of playing i get marmotted again.
my ps4 is getting a bit old and the hard drive is probably getting close to dying but being able to still play destiny 2 without having to redownload the whole game every few hours would be nice.
any ideas on a fix as i am not able to do the steam/pc fix :(

3 RepliesI have this error code on PS4. Console crashes while verifying files. Got any other solutions? Deleted and redownloaded. Soft reset console. Redownloaded. Hard reset database on console, and downloaded again. No solution.

Edited by ZerathX: 2/24/2022 4:54:15 PMI have this issue whenever a Graphics heavy load is about to load. My PS4Pro is kind of 3 yrs old so it could be that we are experiencing a Hardware decay that is not able to keep up with the software performance, resulting in the hardware shutting down the game. (Best guess) Example: A giant Boss with multiple Enemies shooting with flashing muzzles Multiple Spawn animations or animation effects. I noticed it only affects this game. I tested it along with a comparsion with Horizon Forbbiden West on max settings and the console does not gives a hiccup. I experienced this Marmot issue mostly on Boss fights or with areas with heavy animation/light effects. Currently, I am initializing my console to see if I can affirm its a software / hardware compatibility issue. Fingers cross because I really enjoy this new expansion as a Solo player on Legend. Tonight's crash has destroyed me. ( I was at the boss fight with a Scorn boss in The Cunning, crashed 5 times before I figured, I cant look at the Statue during the fight to lessen the processing load on my console, dug a corner and play Peek Shoot for a good hour. Upon Worm boss fight, bam...it crashed once more. That took me out for tonight.) TLDR: You are not alone on this. HDR was off Resolution even got as low as 720p Still, it crashed on these fight or gameplay settings. Please help, Bungie.
