Update 3.3.1.3 Crashed PS4

This might be a little long but my Mother and I play Destiny together on our own playstations but today (literally just an hour ago) when she tried to start the game after installing the new update it told her that the files were corrupted and that she had to delete the game and reinstall it. She tried to do this but her console then said that she had to put it into Safe Mode to check files, etc. (I'm not sure exactly what it said). She did this also but the progress bar keeps getting stuck at 24% and then asks her to download the most current OS update file from PlayStation's website and use a USB to reinstall it into the system. We tried to do this but the minute she put the USB in it told her that the file was corrupted again. We have followed the instructions on PlayStation's website but nothing seems to be working. I've also looked about online and there doesn't seem to be anyone else encountering the same problems. If anyone has any advice that might help please let us know! Her PS4 is quite old but has never had a problem with updates, etc. until now. She still has to try reformatting it completely but that's kind of a worst case option for her. Ps. as a side note this is my first time posting here so if there are any issues with my post please let me know so that I can change it, thank you!

  • I would try to post this on a Playstation specific forum to get advice there. It might sadly be that the PS4 is too old. Regarding D2 though everything is stored on Bungie´s servers so nothing in-game will be lost.
