The number one complaint that I'm getting from multiple people when I try to get them to start playing the game is that they have no clue as to what to do. Even when I have to ask them "what does it say now", for them it's too arduous to continue, even on a free to play game.
I know rewriting everything would be a heavy haul, but one feature I think may be more simple is a sherpa or guide mode.
Would it be possible when with a new player (or any player) to simply ask them to enable this mode and you be able to long press some button in the menu to see what they're seeing on their end? Just being able to look at their menu in some way would be so beneficial that you could save a lot of time and frustration for new users.
You could even reward randos who want to help others by making a scoring or reward system that benefits everyone. Especially when you're tired of the grind, it's always fun to teach everyone about the game and experience their reaction to everything for the first time.
Anyway, I'd love to help test or design it if there's ever that possibility. I think it would make a huge difference in new gamer experiences.
