As an exotic, the overshield can be useful at times and certainly a downside to an on-demand overshield is certainly a fair condition that needs to be met, but mobility plays a big part in survivability in both pve and pvp.
At least allow us to lift while this exotic is active so that we can avoid enemy attacks more easily as well as properly traverse the maps in both modes.
Trying to get around a crucible map without your jump ability is a pain in the ass otherwise.
Plus it makes you a sitting duck for stasis.
Then speed up the camera so that after the shield is active you aren't walking for like 2 seconds in 3rd person.
It just makes it so you can't really do anything and it just adds to the animation that's already on par to the normal barricade.
You can still shoot in 3rd person, but good luck hitting anything.
Maybe make it so that we can cancel it in some way.
When you activate it in a bad spot (and since you can barely move) you can literally be slow walking for 20 seconds just waiting for it to go away.
And since taking ANY damage resets the timer, you can go LONGER being incapable of moving properly and without your barricade charging.
It's a really neat idea for an exotic but the downside of using it just...does not fit the mobility of destiny and at times can be more of a detriment than useful.

I wonder if fhe people complaining about the strength of the shield have maxed resistance. I have zero issues with the shield strength. Pop it before you attack a stomp boss with a sword or other situations. Its not meant to be popped at the beginning of a mission and last till the end people...

Personally I thought only necrotic grips and mask of bakris sounded useful out of new exotics and necrotic is busted partially because melee energy part doesn’t seem to work. These exotics for solar hunter and warlock don’t feel like they will see light of day because most people that use those classes wouldn’t be looking for something like this. Most solar hunters are likely to do nighthawk over this. Could be useful for pvp but hard to say given most people would have rather had a stasis exotic because that would be new and applicable to what everyone wants to use now. People rarely run revive related exotics because that’s conditional upon someone else then overshield exotic for icefall is just killed because pvp exists and changing shots to kill would be meta breaking. Icefall needs a rework. Revive exotic and 2 solar ones should be tossed out and replaced with something that buffs stasis since that would be the obvious thing to buff with it being new this season imo.

I paired Icefall Mantle with Heir Apparent, and I was basically a walking tank but movement is so unbelievably awful with Icefall Mantle. Totally could do with some minor tweaks here and there. Then again, I'm a sliding, slipping, Dune Marchers loving maniac.

like most exotics they make they are very dependent on what your playing. This is just another one of those. Aeon swifts are useless unless your in a team. Exotics are mostly very situational, this one wont change.

I can think of 3 things, - Complete CC immunity while overshield is active, - Double overshield health, - Cancel shield on will.

We need to be able to cancel it or something. If you use it on a strike, you are stuck there till it wears off since you can use your jump abilities. I understand it having a trade off to keep it balanced but, not being able to run, slide or use your jump abilities is too many catches.

It needs a massive hp boost for pve. It's cool in patrols, but anything more difgic than that and it's a hindrance

I get that it’s supposed to be “balanced” this way but they really didn’t test this out (no shocker there). What it should do is drop your Mobility stat to zero. This way it does slow you down but you’re not impaired.

Only thing I can agree with is being able to cancel it whenever you want.

The entire point is that you lose mobility for a big shield, I use it all the time and it’s great it takes way more damage than I though and if you have 90 resilience you always have it pretty much. Also the 20 sec timer restarts when you get hit too so it last for ages just don’t use it anywhere you need to jump lol

All we need is the ability to cancel it. Im ok with a lack of movement if i get to be beefy for a fight but having to bot walk around for 20 seconds after the fight is over seriously sucks.
