Remember how summer expansions. Typically build up to the fall expansion?

This video, describes good reasons behind the issues, with the lore in beyond light. This post of mine, is to describe my reasoning, as to how the summer season, did build things up into the fall expansion, but not how we would've interpreted it in normal circumstances. Be it with covid delays or not, bungie has had intent on sunsetting, long before it was announced. I don't blame bungie for the intent behind sunsetting, but to many including myself, can't agree with both the methods, and reasoning behind sunsetting. The recent reveal of bungie's workforce reduction since the activision split has helped to clear details, as to why this past year, and upcoming content are as dreading as some exaggerate destiny to be. The expectations are unfortunately low for any of the normal expectations I've seen ever since. While these people aren't non existent, i don't remember the last time i heard or saw somebody i'd describe as "one who thinks bungie does nothing wrong". Season of arrivals, brought us the umbral engram system. No matter what perks the gear had, the benifits or weaknesses, season of arrivals, accomplished nothing, except it lessened the damage done when sunsetting arrived. No matter if your from bungie, or the community. No matter if you agree, or disagree with what's above this text, i ask you this. Since sunsetting still happened, i want to ask this simple question. Without the "remade" gear from season or arrivals, the little bit of new gear that attempted to replaced out old gear, without the stat favoring system umbrals provided for our armor, and without choosing what gear drops for us, Can we agree sunsetting would've fealt as bad, and unnesisary as it currently is, or will soon appear to be? I confidently believe that's the case. In my eyes, and many others, Season of arrivals only achieved that. It only lessened the damage sunsetting dealt. If the details of the above video, describing beyond lights story issues wasn't a topic, this discussion would have an automatic counter argument by the majority of the community. I don't want bungie to go back to Activision, since no matter how benificail a buisness partner may be, Their's no trusting corperate overlords. I wouldn't expect a new relationship with Microsoft either. It would be ideal, but not expectable. The moment bungie's workforce issue doesn't exist, is the moment we get back to the good, and bad topics, start to help destiny, bungie, and all of us grow together, in our appreciation, and love for destiny. I've been preaching it for far too long. Only in recent events have i seen this opinion shared. It hurts to feel correct sometimes. Due to covid, i don't entirely expect this issue to be solved. Be it by bungie hiring staff, or partnering with another studio. And when i say partnering, i mean it by definition. Actual teamwork. Microsoft nabbed bethesda. If it wasn't for hearing that, I'd have no hope for any developer to undergo i similar experience in today's pandemic. I'm not saying Their's high chances, but i now believe it to be possible. Take care, stay safe, and for humanities sake, Eyes up gaurdians. Become legend.
