Why isn’t Xivu Arath using the Taken?
In the new Vidoc we get a preview of what the upcoming season is about, and in the video someone says that there’s hive growths popping up across the system and it’s infecting enemies and causing them to lose their minds. They mention that “she’s corrupting herself an army”.
My question is: what’s the point of doing this? Surely Xivu can borrow some Taken from her sister Savathun right? Or maybe could she make Taken herself? (I’m not too intuitive with the lore pls don’t kill me :p)
It just seems like a waste of time and energy on her part to me, since the Taken are also an army of Enemies who have been corrupted and had their will [i]taken[/i] away.

And savathun only knows how to make taken because of quria, a hydra that oryx transformed in taken and gave to savathun. Why cant she get taken from savathun? My best guess is that she doesnt want to, or cant. I really dont know the answer to that one

Well Xivu doesn't have control over the taken it would seem, only savathune does Besides, it's unlikely savathune would be willing to GIVE taken to her sister, giving is like the opposite of the Hives whole philosophy

Unknown. The original compact with the Deep is the only thing stopping Xivu from controlling the Taken. One such path is the book of sorrows, but she appears for the time being to not be able to do even that... we'll see later on though.

Others already pointed out that she doesn’t have a way to control the Taken. But seeing as Savathun had Taken some of her sons/daughters, they may not even be helping each other. Savathun has rejected the Sword Logic, Xivu Arath hasn’t (as far as I know. Someone correct me if I’m wrong), so they automatically have a bit of a disagreement.

My best guess is that Xivu is at odds with Savathûn. We know Savathûn used her taken powers to turn Xivu's children into taken.

It's in the Lore Books, The Books of Sorrow. She and the Witch Queen are actually far weaker than Oryx. They don't have the Knowledge to use such power. What I can't understand is She had a Far bigger Army than Oryx and the Witch Queen......WTF happened???

Savathun controls Taken, Xivu Arath controls Hive. Perfect synergy.
