Please Don't Lock Event Content Behind Trials of Osiris
I was stoked to see the new armour designs for the Solstice of Heroes, they look absolutely gorgeous and I'd be so down to the usual grind of the event if not for one thing : the condition to win 7 Trials matches for the Majestic Armour.
I'm of the opinion that no event content should be locked behind pinnacle activities such as Trials, Raids or Grand Master Strikes, but especially Trials. I think we can all agree that PvE content is much more doable then PvP content, and that is even more evident when we're talking about Comp and Trials. Locking event content behind the least accessible activity of all just seems to make it a bad experience for the player base as a whole.
I'm not suggesting to undermine Trials or anything like that, all I want is for there to be other more inclusive ways to complete the event's objectives, make it so people that hate playing Trials don't have to, even if it takes longer to complete the objective. For example, instead of winning 7 matches being the only way for players to complete the objective, make it percentage based and award different percentages of completion for different activities, Trials will get you to 100% with 7 wins, Comp will get you to 100% with 12 wins and the other Crucible playlists will get you to 100% with 21~30 wins, something like that. As a PvE player who only plays crcible only when I absolutely have to, I'd have an alternative, and people who like playing Comp and Trials would be rewarded with more progress.
Again, I'm not against there being pinnacle activities exclusive loot, those are tough and the players deserve to be properly rewarded for completing them. All I'm saying is that event content, which to my understanding is specially meant to be fun and entertaining to the community as a whole, shouldn't be locked behind the most undoubtedly skill demanding activity in the game.
