Bungie Loves Stack Players More?
Frankly speaking, this is the most toxic IB I've ever played. The matches were full of 6 stack teams. I know dev cherish players' game experience but now it seems that they treasure stacks much more. Just a simple tweak of matchmaking pattern: team VS team, solo VS solo, so simple but has never been implemented. I simply don't know why.

2 RepliesNah. I don't think Bungie has a plot against solo players. It's more like... they thought connection-based matchmaking would be a good idea but didn't fully consider the consequences.

2 RepliesI’ll tell you why. They don’t want this because it will divide the playerbase up even further. The game already has a very low playerbase. Doing what you suggest would also create longer queue times and further strain Connections. And yes Bungie wants you to team up. How do we know this? Double and Triple valor Week and even some of the IB bounties themselves reward team play. It is after all a TEAM gamemode. You choose to play solo. Bungie gives you tools to use. There are also tons of 3rd party LFG sites. It’s up to you to use them.

If players need to play with people in order to enjoy content, they are more likely to try to convince friends to buy and play the game. Failing that, players are likely to team up with each other and encourage each other to keep playing. So, yes, stacks are going to win more in PVP and B isn't going to work really hard to stop that. From a fun point of view.. This isn't a single player, do the campaign and stop game. If you want an old Assassin's Creed single player type of experience, then there are lots of other options. The most intense parts of the game tend to require playing with others. Succeeding or failing as a team is a fundamental human experience. I nearly always play solo now, but raiding and PVP back in D1 with a regular group was the most fun I ever had in a game. That's the experience Bungie is trying to encourage you to have. If you are specifically concerned about winning in IB, then get on LFG and play with people. Otherwise just grind out the bounties and realize that you might win less than half the time.

4 RepliesI’ve played both solo and in a completely stacked group. I literally wandered around in circles trying to find people and got a 0.0 it was so stacked. So trust me I got that covered. Yes there are teams. Some teams are good. Some are amazing. Some you wonder if they have ever seen the sun. Most of them are just decent though. Groups of 3 or 4 people running together. Bad games will always happen unless you are at the very top of the skill pyramid. And even then you can have bad games. I went flawless in trials today on my first try. I also had several banner games with a 10.0 plus kd. I also got shit on a bunch in banner 😂. I’m not the best. I’m certainly not the worst. It happens to all of us 🤷🏻♂️ for every game you annihilate someone, someone else just got crushed.

all of crucible has been like this and the hacking ( on console) is becoming more prominent, getting one shotted by gnawing hunger and watching one opponent take down 4 people in the time normal time to kill one person

3 RepliesI’m sorry, but trying to imply toxicity on the part of people making teams to play a team based game mode is nonsensical. This is endgame PvP. Play hard to try and win and get the most rewards. C’mon dude, don’t blame anyone for doing that.

Sometimes you just have to cater to the hardcore, daily and dedicated players. Rather than players that possess little skill yet complain about what should and shouldn’t be in PvP. Not realizing that having no skill decreases the weight of your vote and value in these systems.

I mean I don’t see the problem with teams or it being toxic. No matter what, a well coordinated team is going to be better in almost every case than a team of non communicating solo players in PvP.

You should make it team vs. team by getting your own team. IB is a team-centric, once in a while mode. Regular 6v6 shouldn't be so strict when it comes to how well you do if you choose to play solo vs. being on a team, but there is nothing wrong with IB being set up that way. There are not enough teams playing to have the game only ever putting teams against other teams unless more people get on a team. IB is the perfect vessel to contain the premade team-based aspect of this game. Everyone can't find other people to play with everyday in the other playlists but IB only appears every so often so its actually much more easy to be prepared. It actually balances out the diversity of approaches that people bring to PvP quite nicely if you think about it.

1 ReplyIt really does get old sometimes. You're in a 6-rando fireteam and run up against a 5 or 6 team stack and you know by the way they move they're all sitting in discord on comms. Thing is, they've already implemented the answer in game. Just like a survival, they could easily add a Freelance queue to IB or whatever. Normal IB = same 1 to 6 man fireteams they have now ... Freelance IB = Solo - 2-man fireteams. Let people choose which they prefer and see what happens.

3 RepliesIt’s not so simple... How do you fill teams of 5? You also need to think about the matchmaking times, especially since the game runs connection based.
