What's so wrong with AFK farming?

Could someone explain this to me? Obviously I get the problem when you're affecting the game for others, but when you have 3 AFK people, what's the issue? First, let me explain my issue. I see people keep posting "you still have 100 days left in the season!" No. YOU might have 100 days left, I have 14. I game 1 day a week to keep a good relationship with my wife which means my time is limited and VERY focused. It'll take me an average of 6+ weeks to hit the power cap (1050), and I will more than likely never hit 1060 before end of season. I haven't hit over 50 on the seasonal grind in the last couple season, and when an exotic quest drops or some new thing happens mid-season I have to decide if the new thing or power grinding is more important, but generally can't do both which pushes my grinding back an extra week. Now, with that said, here's my main issue with them taking AFK forge/loot cave all that stuff away. I buy Destiny to play with my buddies. However, my buddies game up to 7 days a week. One of my buddies has 2 characters above 1040 and the third above 1030, while without the AFK forge (which I found out about and got to do for like 3 hours before they "fixed" it) I would be sitting at about 1012 (that includes the 5 from my artifact). My buddies are already grinding the new dungeon and with 2-3 characters and I can't even get my main in (let alone my other 2 characters which I haven't touched in a while (hunter/2 seasons; titan/3-4 seasons). I've expressed these opinions before and here's the another problem. Most of you will say "stop whining and get on LFG", and my response to you is a fat frikin NO. I did that all through D1 and people on LFG are effing morons. Most of them have no clue what's going on, have never watched a YouTube video in their life, and expect you to explain and Sherpa their dumba$$ through everything. OR they are the "know-it-alls" who don't want to hear a word you have to say and if you don't do it their way they leave. I got into Destiny as a great game to play with my buddies (a lot of us were Dirty Sharks from COD that got tired) who wanted a more relaxed game to play together, and we have had some great fun over the years. But with the power grind being what it is, some of us could find a LOT more fun in Destiny with things like the AFK forge allowing us to actually have time to complete our power grind and work on some of the more "fun" things. Ok, fine, not everyone elses problem, although I'm sure there are others out there in my predicament as well who would agree with me. The other argument is "it ruins the game". No, it doesn't. It allows people like me, to game with the friends I choose, without having to worry about being a burden in activities or just not play half the content. And for those people who say "well, people will grind to max and then complain there is nothing to do", in my opinion, that's their problem. I'm using it to actually enhance my experience in the game. If you get through and find you have nothing to do and are bored, then yea, you should've done the normal grind. That's not MY problem.
