Nothing is more fun than losing a round because even though on your screen you have made it into cover, the host (wherever they may be in the ether) hasn't updated yet and you get rubber banded back into the open on your death screen. Or getting killed by a sniper that somehow snaps to your head regardless of the range. I understand skill is a thing but when the shot is already in my guardian's skull before the red glint even pops up, no one is that fast without help. Doesn't help the case when that same person can headshot from literally across the map with better devils. Furthermore, after I died and was on the orb watching screen his model was snapping exactly in the direction of my teammates despite not having line of sight. I've reported him through the game and on steam. (Anyone else notice the shady af players have level 0 private accounts?) It's time to issue IP bans for these no life pos that want to ruin it for the rest of us.

Yes no peer to peer and pvp and pve should have been split from start, they shouldn't affect each other.
-
Destiny will never be competitive sadly. Other games are good though.
-
Napster's p2p was more stable in 1998. It's amazing that it's even still legal to use considering how exposed you are when playing matchmade activities.
-
I only read the title of this article and gave it a thumbs up
-
Competitive? Try r6s or something else
-
The game also the worst tick rate of most FPS games. It's really a joke!
-
Everyone upvote this please. I have a really good internet but I’m sick and tired of seeing laggy opponents.
-
This game shouldn't have competitive when the easiest weapons to use are the best weapons to use
-
Also think about it, trades shouldn't even be possible with most weapons. How can you trade when everything except for like fusions and bows are hitscan? The latency is really what kills this.
-
I always thought Destiny was the wrong vehicle to promote competitive PvP. Being a loot based game makes a level playing field almost impossible. Throw in P2P networks, weak matchmaking, poor anti-cheat, questionable design choices and you get a recipe for disaster.
-
Peer to peer is good for PvE, but awful for PvP. This is a PvE game and bungie made a terrible mistake adding crucible.
-
I haven't run into that many blatant cheaters, but yesterday playing Rumble I ran into someone with horrible lag that basically caused them to teleport and kill you before your hits even registered on them. I have always enjoyed getting killed after making it into cover as well, so much fun
-
Bungie, for the love of God stop trying to make Destiny competitive. It is not. Even if the cheating problem magically dissapeared, we are stuck with the same toxic environment. Even without hard cheats, recovs are still a thing.
-
Any competitive mode shouldn’t allow exotics either.
-
IP ban does jack and beans. Just use a VPN, boom you aren't banned.

That’s why sbmm is wrong... a lot of people get punished for knowing how to aim because of sbmm... I shouldn’t be playing against someone from the other side of the world just because we have similar skill, because it’s all about connection when this happens.
-
If they know how to cheat, chances are they know how easy it is to get around all kinds of bans. Especially on pc. There’s not really anything they can do about the cheaters with the games current model
-
bungie's anti-cheat systems and personnel were woefully unprepared for this however I believe they made the decision to go f2p knowing full well that this would happen but didn't want to pass up the micro revenue by waiting longer to develop far more robust systems possible some portion of leadership was clueless enough to think they had it under control but I doubt it

"Rampant Cheating at higher levels" Only on PC 😏
-
We should at least be able to have a switch that we can turn on or off if we wanted to just play with other people in same continent.
-
You got it!

So in high comp, I usually run Mt Top because I’m actually getting good with it. If it bodies you, it kills. Splash damage (aka sticky on the ground) won’t at full health and shields, but it drops low. I faced this team that was lagging so bad that a DIRECT hit would end up being a “splash” hit on them. The number of times I would smack the guy (and I’ve gotten used to knowing if it’s gonna kill or not) and turned away only to see him standing there like I didn’t just shoot a grenade into his chest became Annoying.

“Level 0 private accounts”? That was a bug for a while. Also that guy was probably lagging.
