Bungie is out of ideas for this season/year
Seriously. Stop with these dumbass cabal missions. The last current season was them messing with time. Now they're just throwing the Almighty at us? That's so damn stupid.
Why would the vanguard leave a ship like that unattended? You set up landing and patrol beacons on Oryx's Dreadnaught and you clear out of the rift raft. Why wouldn't we do the same to a STAR DESTROYER? I can't even fathom what happens at Bungie HQ to even suggest this as a mission. Or to base part of a season around. If you're going to have the Cabal be relevant, at least introduce Calus' daughter and the Athenaeum worlds. You know what would be a fun mission, dungeon or raid. Exploring that frost world the Drifter was on with his crew. And introducing ice as a new element. Have more restricted zones and loss of light areas. I don't know, something to spice it up. The gameplay is not matching up the vastly creative lore that you've built up. It's time to deliver.

1 ReplyIt makes a lot of sense.. with season of dawn we have pretty much destroyed any hopes of the red legion making a come back let alone win. The kamikaze that is the the almighty is their last ditch effort to ruin what little our characters have. The almighty is larger than the last city, it may not destroy the traveler but it would destroy the only place guardians have to protect.

1 ReplyThey've been out of ideas since they took Joe Staten's vision and just ran with what was there. There was a great idea, vision, and plan, money and greed took over, the visionary left, and the passion for the game went with him. They (leadership) have no vision for this game other than making money, because they never had a vision in the first place for it. That was what made move this game, I remember looking at the planetary map, and it says "Milky Way Galaxy", making me think, WOW, only one galaxy, where will this game evolve too." Kind of the opposite of, WOW, I hope I can play very small areas, and then play the same areas again in the next game. This game had such potential, and it has, and never will, deliver it.

Buuuuut after the initial redness of the entire planet it didn’t look like ice or ice hive at ALL. Story also left unfinished: Rasputin (mostly closed, but still all that siva is still there) Traveler (all of it. Going inside, the other half that’s still active laying on the ground, the city it created as its first city we never actually explored after its fall, etc) Pyramid (oh look we found it! Oh look let’s ignore it and go back to Osiris) The Nine (still out there, somewhere...) Oryx’s sister (introduction, but no real thought as what to do about it) The rest of Earth. Not all of it is a wasteland. I can see that from orbit. Origins of the vex (enough said) All your Caball stuff (some how Nessus still hasn’t been eaten. Still haven’t met him. His daughter. Rest of the ship.) And the story that could be there: we have time travel, warp speed, are undying, and have never left our solar system?? Edit: If I wanted lore to finish the gaps and story I would pick up a book. I want to play the story. Playing any story never truly completes in this game. They just add more story unrelated to the one you just did and “ties it” together under a big umbrella.

Actually, I think this is the way they’re gonna “retire” the Cabal, or at least the Red Legion for the rest of D2’s lifetime as a last stand. In addition we also get Rasputin. So no, I hardly think they’ve run out of ideas.

I'm ok with the Cabal. They were under represented in D1, and anything that keeps the Taken out of the game is fine with me. Although, the Scorn probably feel a little left out by now. Kind of seem like an obligatory addition to the game just to say "we introduced a new race".

I also mentioned in one of the topics that we need area's with snow or with mist where enemies suddenly appear from. Or maybe parts with water in it. On titan there was a huge monster visible in the water for example. They could use that. What I also would love to see more is more lore based stories starting with a flashback cinematic. Then after this you get a clue on where to find a character that starts your mission on finding this exotic. Every step reveals a new clue and you explore hidden locations. Also with every step you learn more about the lore or what happened after the lore story ended until you find the weapon. A lot of these missions, quests we get hardly showing you the importance of some items in the lore. You only know the history if you read the lore. I want more in game itself.

Bungie haven't the creative knowhow to deliver anything new. The majority is rehashed content from D1 or more and more re used pvp maps. How about some new strikes or a whole new plant.
