Destiny is in Need of a Quality of Life Update (Repost)

Repost from an original that got a lot of attention, but it died over the break. I'd like to see if this post can get some attention while everyone is back. 1-10 are especially important to me and several of my friends actually. These are honest improvements that I think could contribute the the replayability of the game. Other top items I'd like to see that currently aren't on this list are: 23. Raid encounters should drop 1 armor piece and one weapon guaranteed. 24. Everyone in the raid should get an additional, drop at each encounter for each member in the fireteam that hasn't completed that raid. Players should be able to select weapon or armor for this drop. These two items go hand-in-hand with item 10. This game is about bringing guardians together, so let's do it. Warlock melee speed addressed. 3. Farmable, weapon specific Gambit Prime Bounties. 4. Make all universal ornaments available for all Armor 2.0 pieces. 5. Ascendant Shards and Prisms from Valor and Infamy max ranks and resets. 6. More pinnacle drop sources (Maybe a weekly featured raid that rotates? Pinnacles from all dungeons.) 7. Vendor updates. 8. Better protection from duplicate pinnacle drops. 9. Reset on world drops. If we add more weapons to the loot pool, some need to go. Maybe tie tangled web armor and some of the other armor sets to a Spider destination engram. 10. An in-game LFG system. No app. Your casual player isn't going to go the the app every time he wants to try something new. 11. Number of crucible tokens gained after a match increased significantly. In fact, more rewards and incentive for PvP in general. 12. Choice between a weapon and a piece of armor from vendor rank up. The list probably goes on. Those 12 are just the top items that would affect the replayability of both PvE and PvP. Edit (Notable additions from replies. There are more below. I don't want to add every single one. Post will get too long.): 13. Bounties from orbit 14. Y1 Nightfall weapons brought up to year 2 with random rolls. Get rid of the 3 nightfall playlist and just add all weapons to strikes as strike specific loot. 15. Console performance improvements. 16. Black screens in PvP. 17. More sources for Eververse loot. Either make more sources for bright dust, or tie the loot to triumphs or activities. 18. More vault and inventory space. 19. More sensitivity options for controllers. 20. Ability to set quantity when deleting items. 21. Advanced tooltips for weapon and armor stats and similar things that give us accurate numbers of how much dmg increase one stack of rampage is for example. 22. Optional "apply to all items" button when previewing a shader. 25. (23 and 24 above) Raid clan engram should give raid rewards from the first raid you completed that week. If no raid was completed, it gives Vanguard gear.

  • Im missing something important: REMOVE SKILLBASED MATCHMAKING! For all PvP activitys, im an average PvP player, why i get in 3 different Freelance Matches 3 unbrokens as opponents? All the other matches are also garbage. Matching like 90% of the time the same ppl even after stepping out and going back to matchmaking. When I wanna play a quick match, the game searches like 15mins for a match in quickplay/comp. The matchmaking was REALLY better in Season of Opulence and before. In Comp you had the PvE - Boomers and Newbies on the lower ranks (under 3000) and you had the Sweatlords on the higher ranks. I stopped playing PvP in Season 8 after reaching legend because the new system is just trash.

    • QOL updates in a game made to be a part of your life by becoming a chore. Gameplay loops, loot manipulation, throttling xp. Something something, polishing a turd. Futile.

      • Didn't realise how shit this game was until I tried a different mmo loot based game. Now that I'm actually being rewarded for my time I honestly can't bring myself to touch this game. I just don't see a reason too. I feel bad for the people who are in the same position I was in. Wow I wasted so much time.

          • Problem is Bungie likes to have you pay for these changes. It's why more than not, the quality of life fixes always come out with the newest paid content releases and/or used as a catalyst to sell the hyped DLCs. It's been this way for a long while now in D2.

                • an operation health like period for this game would be really good but the issue arrives in how bungie is gonna stay afloat while working on the game. Unlike Ubisoft they don’t have a big backer anymore who can cover for them until they can start making new content.

                • Removal of affinity from Armour - serves 0 purpose other than fake extension of imbalanced loot grind. Ensure all exotics drop with min 60 stats (ideally 65+) Ensure pinnacle armour drops with decent stats - a fully masterworked armour piece with 60 total stats (48 base) is an absolute insult. Add mod slot for exotics to equip Barrier, Overload or Unstoppable mods Quit with everything being about overpowered enemies, timers and ‘everything must be challenging’ - how about injecting the fun back Remove timed expiration of bounties Increase Bounty limit so we can carry everything rather than having to do some, collect and go back to tower to collect more

                  • Vendor updates is huge man. It pisses me off seeing eververse get updated twice per season atleast and we had the same crap vendors for years. Literally years.

Anybody who plays at a level that would necessitate min maxing (in reality, there is no content in the game that remotely requires masterworked gear) has a ton of this stuff. You're being way too generous but the premise of rewarding sherpas is great. Idk about every encounter, and every new player. That's kinda nuts, but some additional reward for sherpas is great. Maybe some kind of point system where each first player gives points that progress towards additional rewards? There has to be a way to strike a balance between being rewarding enough to be worth it but not handing out raid loot like candy. [quote]25. So you want each encounter to give 2 drops, plus one PER Sherpa for upwards of 7 drops for every encounter. 7x4 encounters means 28 drops from GoS, plus 1 for the challenge totaling 29 drops from GoS per character per week. But wait that's not enough, add a raid clan engram, bringing the grant total to 30'drops per week for GoS. I presume you want all of these to be pinnacle as well? And think we need more pinnacle sources? Oh and if your clan doesn't do the raid, they should get a reward for doing the raid.

                      • Love to see a vendor update. Would love to use the solstice gear (accidentally deleted a 2.0 piece). Even this the stats wouldn’t make it worth it. Saying that a vendor update is needed at this point. Idea for collection tab: static role drops of armor or guns but the cost of role said piece is like 100-300 shards and a certain amount of resources pulling it out of collections.

                      • It’s just silly how bad so many things are atm, but all Bungie is doing is focusing on pumping out new season content and EV cosmetics instead of polishing up and refining the content we already have that seriously needs it. Goes to show how well they are “listening” at times. :T

                        • A “Customization Center” at the tower where we can edit our appearance, including our guardian and armor, and do so more freely by being able to apply shaders to our entire set of armor Making it a separate UI system would help consoles keep up and not clutter the inventory screen.

                        • Good list. I heard a streamer just recently say they’re considering dropping controller support and I really hope that isn’t true. If people think controller has an edge of M&K just because of the aim assist then that’s pretty sad. I’ve played both and M&K has a sizable advantage over controller that is in no way made up for by aim assist. Try playing fabled + in comp with a controller if you think otherwise.
