Too many microtransactions and not enough Bright Dust

There aren't enough ways to earn Bright Dust

393

Eververse Items are too expensive

943

The Eververse economy is fine as is

133

As someone who tries pretty hard to collect most of the new weapons, skins, armor cosmetics, etc. I find it almost impossible to keep up with Eververse without spending money. With the changes to cosmetic items no longer dismantling for Bright Dust it is a grueling grind to acquire enough Bright Dust to buy these "free to play" cosmetics fast enough. In theory, each weekly bounty from the 3 main NPC vendors (Zavala, Shaxx, Drifter) grants 200 Bright Dust a piece with additional bounties from some vendors rewarding 10 Bright Dust a piece. This ends up as a grand total of about 3600-4000 bright dust for an account per week so long as they finish these bounties on every character. That's a decent amount however new eververse items such as sparrows, ships, ghosts, and emotes cost anywhere from 2000-3500 bright dust apiece meaning that unless you store away massive amounts of this currency there is no way to acquire all of these new cosmetics fast enough before the event is over. Please implement a better way to earn bright dust or make these prices more reasonable so that people don't feel like they're missing out if they don't spend ridiculous amounts of real money on silver. It has felt like the seasons have just been an excuse to market new skins for quite a while and I can't imagine much of the community enjoying this. If you made it this far into this post please answer the poll question. What is your opinion of the Bright Dust economy?

Eververse: The Extortion of Guardians It just needs to go to be frank. When an emote costs as much as season content there is a problem here. There are too many items in EV that should be a reward in game. Compared to D1, D2 EV is just a over the top exploitation of those whom seek to collect everything in a game. Now I expect replies in support of EV, to those I say this $540 for all EV items or $.01/1

I wouldn't mind Eververse if at least 2 following 3 happened: 1.) Bright Dust prices lowered. 2.) More sources to obtain bright dust (preferably by guaranteeing some amount of bright dust per brightgram as well as doubling bright dust gains from additional bounties). 3.) Entire page(s) dedicated to items purchasable with bright dust. No more weekly rotation crap. Either save up for the item you want, or take your chances with the RNG engrams; you get however long the season is to obtain these items. Could argue legacy items being the only ones that appear in these pages while the current season remains behind the RNG engrams, or vice versa.

  • I think all they need to do is drop prices. If all items cost 1 dollar, and you could bundle 8 items for 5 bucks, and 20 items for 10 bucks then I think less people would have an issue with the economy.

I liked the old method of leveling up and getting bright engrams. Dismantling gave bright dust. The occasional Eververse items would come out like the whisper skins and that would be fine. The silver prices are currently too steep and cater to whales. If they lowered them they would get the whales and impulse buyers for some. The prices are offset so you always have wasted silver just sitting there as well. The battle pass has an opportunity to to mend some of this. After level 20 or so it has a lot of blank spots in its upper slot. They could put bright dust and engrams in there for rewards. This should have been done from the get go and reward that grind. A daily log in bonus that builds up with consecutive log ins could help too. They could give out occasional discounts for Eververse. Warframe does it and I love it.

    • Every one of the additional bounties that you can buy from each of the vendors awards bright dust. You can take 5 per vendor at a time, and can replenish those as soon as they are completed. (One at a time even, don’t have to do all five first). Pretty much every vendor has them, so you can play whatever makes you happy and have an unlimited amount of bright dust earning potential. (Does suck to have to run back to the tower to replenish them though.)

        • I don’t mind spending silver on this game but ill never spend another 7$ to buy one freaking item. I have always been a bad juju fan and it only felt right to buy the red skin but after the purchase, that 700 silver for just one skin left a bad taste on my mouth. I actually regretted buying it, ever verse is extremely expensive and ill never purchase anything from the store again unless the price drops dramatically. One weapon skin should be no more than 3$ tops

Well at least the prices are not as bad as black deserts store prices lol $25 for one costume pretty much everything is $15 and above And there’s games out there far worse Destiny is cheap in comparison but I agree the prices of some things should be adjusted Bungie stop putting everything in eververse and put stuff behind strikes

            • One related issue is that they brought Eververse to the Director screen. We still must go to the Tower to visit every vendor, except Tess.

            • Luke Smith rebranded this game as a “collections” game and then threw 90% of collectible items into the loot shop. I think that’s really shitty, but I’ve been around long enough to know that I’m in the minority. All I really want is for the earnable rewards to be more interesting, and for there to be a bit more balance between earnable loot and vending machine loot. I don’t care that Bungie wants to make money, but I do think their focus on monetization has negatively impacted earnable rewards, and that sucks.

              • Honestly, I’ve found myself lacking any interest in Eververse items due to high silver cost and low bright dust acquisitions. Because I’ll never have enough BD to buy all the things I want, I look at the silver price. Then I see the exorbitant silver price and decide that it’s just not worth it. We can’t have both of these things be true if they want people to interact with EV. Either give us more bright dust, or drop those silver prices. I’d prefer the latter, since I WANT to give Bungie a little extra money. But not if I feel I’m not getting my money’s worth ($20 to get three exotic ornaments is way too much, for instance).

              • Tbh the people who want to collect literally everything are doing it to themselves. Not saying there's no problem with BD economy, but you guys are stressing for nothing much. I check eververse every week and see things i'd want. This event was a huge annoyance for me with all the christmas stuff littered in there, BUT i decided to by vanguard boons and got 3/5 eververse shaders i wanted more than anything. I really wanna finish the cartographer set. So im waiting for the event to be over. This gives me time to save a shit ton of bright dust 😄

I honestly dont mind bungie having microtransactions. What really bothers me is the lack of balance between items(emotes and ghosts shells; specifically extoics) to earn in game vs purchase from everse. Let me earn a exotic emotes (more than one) from RNG doing x activity. Let me earn an Exotic ghost besides sagira's. There needs to be more balance in this regard and i think a lot people would not be bothered by everse as much. The obelisk activity is great but imagine there being an exotic emote you could earn at ramdom too? This should be a no brainer but for some reason bungie does not operate in this manner which is sad. I think taking a wareframe approach(the platinum system) would livin up the issue immensely. But this would require more work form bungie to make this a viable choice. i would also say dedicated servers would be needed.

                • this is how bungie wants it. It's one of many tactics these companies integrate to take advantage of stupid players, and yes they are stupid.

                • Can’t make multi-choice polls, and your options A and B are not mutually exclusive… I selected B, but A is also true.
