I have been locked out of my account and unable to log in.

I started trying to record my destiny gameplay to upload to youtube on the OBS recording software. I was messing around with bitrate and overlay settings and when i got in a pvp match i was disconnected about 2 minutes in and when i tried to relog i had a message saying i have been banned? I am unsure of why and would like a confirmation from bungie on why. I have been an avid destiny player since the launch of destiny 1 in 2014 and i understand the precautions have to be made about destiny 2 pc current hacking state but I hope that those issues can be resolved. Thankyou!

    • Did the message you received go something like "Not so fast..."? If so, then you were indeed banned, and they do not reverse them. If you list all other programs that were running we may be able to point you in the right direction to at least know the why. OBS wouldn't have done it, as others run it with no issue. Keep in mind that any program that injects or modifies code can get you flagged for review and then banned. Programs such as cheats/trainers/aimbots/or even programs for school or work can get flagged. Some viruses can even be an issue. The previously mentioned programs don't need to be specifically for Destiny, either.

    •
Account Bans and Restrictions Running third-party PC applications that are incompatible with Destiny 2 on PC may impact game performance or prevent the game from running properly. Bungie will not ban or restrict players for using common third-party applications such as Discord, XSplit, OBS, RTSS or other apps as outlined below. However, Bungie reserves the right to ban or restrict players that are using third-party applications to violate our Code of Conduct or the license agreement that governs Destiny as outlined in the Destiny Account Ban and Restrictions Policies. Bans and restriction are not applied automatically. Bungie reviews all possible violations before applying a ban or restriction to an account or device.
Source: https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/46101

    • Obs wouldn’t cause this. What else do you run on your pc while playing. Even in your task bar.

    • A few recently banned accounts. “Wrongfully banned. Please fix Bungie” Ban was upheld by BNGSecurity. “Sealed my account for no reason” Ban was upheld by BNGSecurity. “Banned for absolutely no reason” Ban was upheld by BNGSecurity. I could list so many. So, if you want to pursue your claim of innocence then you may end up with a very red face. Doing something once / 1 time does not lead to a restriction or ban unless you are using code injecting software or cheating in some way. Connection based restrictions or bans you are given a warning about your connection first before any restriction or ban is places. Bungie investigates accounts before they hand out any restrictions or bans. After investigating your account, they found a reason. They will not remove this restriction/ban. On the occasions they do respond, the answer will give a date and a very brief reason which will be one of the following below. 1. Cheating 2. Any software being detected by Destiny while it's running. These could include Trainers, Aimbots, Auto-fire, Mods, Graphics Hacks, anything that injects code into games. 3. An unstable connection is having an impact on other players. • PC bans are typically caused by a few normal reasons. That being said, bans/restrictions/suspensions will not be disputed/discussed/overturned for any reason whatsoever per policy (LINKED HERE). All account changes are done by the Security Response Team (SRT) after much looking into the factor. If your account is banned, it was banned for a reason. 1) Running an illegal software key - this can happen if you purchase a key off of a less than reputable site (some Russian sites are notorious for this) where they use keygens to generate the key code. This will get your account banned and likely also lock out your Battle.net account as well. 2) Running a program or piece of software that is used to 'enhance' your D2 experience such as a cheat / aimbot / trainer / booster / etc. These programs will attempt to insert code into the game and will get you outright banned. These games also tend to run in a TSR state and you may not even know they are running 3) Network manipulation in PvP/PvPE events. Doing kiddie script things like IP flooding people off the internet OR worse committing the federal crime of doing DDoS attacks will result in you potentially getting banned if your offense was egregious enough 4) Running cheat / aimbot / trainer / booster / etc for other programs or games. Even if the program is not designed to specifically work with Destiny 2, the anti cheat engine will detect the ability for that program to attempt to insert code into programs and will get you banned. These games also tend to run in a TSR state and you may not even know they are running 5) Running debugging / testing / development software on the same partition that you game on (such as Visual Studio, etc.). You should know if you use these programs you do not run them on the same computer or at least boot partition that you game on, period. Unfortunately no matter what the situation is, your account is gone, it will not be coming back. You are free to repurchase the game and start a new account but this one is not coming back. That being said if your offense is egregious enough, you may start a new account and they may detect your MAC address / IP address and ban your new accounts for violating the EULA. Sorry Guardian, your account is done
