Daily Fish Fact
A female octopus will guard her eggs until she dies or they hatch. In most cases, if she lives to see them hatch, she will generally die shortly after. This is because she is starving because she refuses to leave the eggs to hunt. If they do hatch, she often does not have enough energy to go and hunt.
