Erentil has essentially left it's category as a midrange weapon. As well as making primary gunfights almost pointless.
It's range has far exceeded what should be reasonable for a fusion rifle with such a tight bolt spread and reasonable recoil.
It's charge rate, which should be the slowest (and require timing/planning) is a non-issue when faced with most primaries, and closing the distance with a shotgun is... Hit or miss, no pun intended (looking at you, pellet spread.)
Nevermind the sad state of a sidearm against the charge rate.
It needs adjusting, either the range needs reigned in, or the charge rate needs a rework to be longer, or even just adjust the bolt spread at range to decrease the instances of "Mapping" guardians with it from a range that's entirely unreasonable.

See this guy has the right argument and im glad he does as people need to realise that fusions are supposed to have more range than a shotty yet the fusion has exceeded this range and is now broken (i have a roll that can kill from 80m+) All other fusions are fine other then a decently rolled erentil. If it was adjusted to perfom like the wizened then id be over the moon

There are some concerns with Erentil but the truly broken weapon is Jottun. That gun is literally point, pull trigger, guaranteed kill. Now I know that it isn’t that common but atleast with Erentil you have to aim and there is a degree of skill involved, Jottun just does all the work for you, you just have to make sure you are picking up the ammo for it.

The nerf should be for crucible only though. I'm so tired of people from crucible making points and complaints (that are valid complaints in crucible, yes) about good PVE guns that get nerfed into the ground because it doesn't work well in PVP.

Erentil needs a range nerf, absolutely. A not well rolled Erentil can kill a player with one single shot in a range where other good Fusion Rifles do almost nothing. A God Roll Erentil can kill a player in a range of 75 meters. It's clearly broken.

I'd just prefer for Fusion Rifles to go back to being projectile weapons with little damage fall off..when they actually took some form of skill in leading your target.

Getting annoyed with people using erentill? Just do what I do pull out your mountaintop spawn trap them with extreme prejudice and bag them after each kill. I’ve been doing it since season 5 and it works every time. They’ll get the message.

You can’t stand at 20m and spam your hand cannon at people using it. When you hear it’s very loud charge queue from around a corner you can’t peek it. You can’t run at the same player who killed you with it over and over with your shotgun out. It doesn’t map anyone. The god roll for range perks can against a player standing still in a private match. The crucible isn’t like that. To get a 1HK you have to time your charge, be in range, AND hit your shot. You run at an Erentil user that’s your fault, you peek the corner when you hear it charging that’s your fault, you stand still out of cover that’s your fault. The gun isn’t highly used, so when you actually see one adjust your play. Don’t come to the forums and beg Bungie to nerf a perfectly fine gun because you die to it. That behavior ruins the game as more and more and more gets nerfed until we are back at D2Y1 levels of mediocrity. Fusions including Erentil play a vital part in the meta of being the the mid range 1hk weapon. The range on it is fine because it’s only consistent in mid ranges. Consistency is the key. We need a 1HK special for ranges between shotguns and snipers or else all we have left in the crucible is shotguns and snipers.

While your at it, why not also nerf the stompies on a hunter or the warlock blink exotic, so that a lot of shotgun builds become much less viable. That would force these players to use a different builds, right? That’s what bungie wants, right? Btw, Erentil has still NEVER made the top 5 pvp weapons. Recluse has every week. Luna's still is. Mida still is. Erentil is not. The problem with you is you're not good. You go rushing around everywhere like a child and then cry when someone pops out and kills you. It's not that Erentil is good, it's that you aren't, ape.

Especially with the nerf to handcannon range... I think that fusions should experience the same type of drastic drop off to damage at range in the crucible. I feel it should not be possible to die from one shot from a fusion at 40+ meters. Really spoiling the crucible for me...

That's why we needed a hand cannon nerf, how could Erentil map you if you could just 3 tap them? This is such a great update, wow, I'm so happy Erentil and Pulses are even better now and I can stand in my spawn with them the whole game until the timer runs out (you know that score limit is not getting reached.) How else could I get kills???
