Aaaaand I’m staying a proud Catholic.
Not sure how that’s relevant.
idk either... i guess priests there are more focused on children's ministries than adult D groups...

Obligatory ‘that doesn’t reflect upon the values of the church as a whole and you only ever hear about bad priests’ defense. In all honesty, yeah the amount of church scandal we’ve had coming out of the Sexual Revolution is disgusting, but there are thousands upon thousands of amazing priests and other clergy who do great work every day. The problem is our Pope seems to care less about this issue and more about telling poor nations they can’t use the death penalty, for example.
Sorry, all out of salt.
yeah, it was a low blow of a joke. but i agree, y'alls pope seems much less interested in advancing the faith and more in advancing Stalinism

Don’t worry bro the sad thing is we deserve it these days...yeah JPII was amazing, Benedict held down the fort pretty well, Francis sold it and ran lol.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Honestly, after visiting a few catholic churches in Israel, I think the next pope needs to reign in the 'tax collectors'. It was almost cheaper to visit a theme park than some of the churches after all the obligatory fees and whatnot. I understand asking for a dollar or two for maintenance, but at the same time, the church makes a killing on indulgences (which I will not get into). The catholic church holds a fair amount of our church history and historic locations, why do they have to make it so hard to access? but i digress

Edited by Ghost Rider: 9/17/2019 10:43:24 PMThey made you pay for entrance??? That’s wrong. I’ve never had to pay money to the Church unless I chose to do so...if it a historical institution like the Church of the Holy Sepulcher I can understand paying a little bit, but that’s not good. Also yeah, if anyone demands money for an indulgence that’s clericalism, a sin, and generally Oofty.
Sorry, all out of salt.
It was some of the churches charged 'park entry fees' I didn't buy any indulgences because I am a protestant. but yes, the whole thing was monetized
Would it be wrong to make a joke about money grabbing Jews here?? Yes, it would Sorry.
That’s a shame man, the Church makes quite enough through donations alone, if any of these places need money they just need to ask the Vatican (which itself needs to reduce expenditures IMO). That is the perfect time for that joke
